What are forage balls?

As insectivores, hedgehogs love foraging for bugs in their native woodland habitat and can smell their prey 3 inches below the ground. To mimic this in captivity, hedgehog cages often include dig boxes filled with balls together with worms and other yummy treats.

Wheels are a must for every hedgehog. It is an essential, a need. Sadly, it is something that most setups locally lack. In the wild, they can run for miles at night in search for food while also burning their excess calories. Have you noticed your hogs walking around in circles for minutes every day? Making havoc inside their cage? They're bored and trying to burn all of their energy. They are stressed. In captivation, they lack space, stimulation, and exercise. That is why wheels are so important. They provide hours of enjoyment within the confinement of their cage. If your hedgehog doesn’t already have a wheel, get them one. What if you were trapped within 4 walls with nothing to do?

Our hedgehogs run like this ALL night. Only stopping for a quick meal.

George here has such a beautiful Cinnicot color to him. And, his color will pop even more after he goes through quilling.

What is quilling? Quilling is a process hedgehogs go through when they essentially exchange their baby quills/spines for adult ones. All hedgehogs go through this between 8-12 weeks old. Think of it as us humans losing our baby teeth. Hedgehogs can go through quilling again between 8-12 months old, but this time isn’t as big as the first.

We are thrilled to say we have 4 healthy and growing hoglets! Meet Phoebe, Mavis, Wall-E, and George.

These beautiful babies are looking for their forever homes. They currently are 2 weeks old, and will be ready for release at 8 weeks. They are perfect for first time hedgehog owners, or anyone really, for their temperament is very good. Each of the hoglets are priced accordingly depending on their unique color patterns and s*x. Their individual details and traits are posted under their photo, though please know that their physical appearances are still developing and could change as they continue to get older. We will be posting updates every now and then.

We’d like for these hedgehogs to go to loving and responsible homes, so please study up on the proper hedgehog care. We recommend joining the group “Hedgehog Talk” on Facebook, as well as reading articles/sites about hedgehog care. And of course, our DMs are always open for if you need any help.
