Rabbits (Oryctolagus Cuniculus)

- also known as bunnies are small mammals in the family Leporidae. Rabbits have 2 categories, mainly; Pet type and Meat type. Male rabbits are called "buck" and female rabbits are called "doe" The produce of single mating is referred to as "litter". Baby rabbits are called "kits", and a group of baby rabbits is called "fluffle"

Pet type rabbits are the furry and cute ones that are bred with the sole purpose of pet keeping. Meat type rabbits on the other hand, are the bigger breeds of rabbits that are part of the livestock list of the Department of Agriculture. In history, rabbits were brought to the Philippines as another source of meat. Filipinos however, are not yet very accustomed to consuming rabbit meat.
