Sometimes, natural delivery could not be achieved in the dam. There are a lot of reasons that a C-section would be the best option to bring your new puppies into this world.

In this case, the large head of the English bulldog makes it difficult to pass through the dam’s small pelvis. Also, this breed is prone to anasarca (see the 2nd to the last photo). If one puppy is affected, it could disrupt a natural birth and compromise the health of the mother as well as the litter.

📌Sarcoptic mange

Sarcoptes mites causes intense pruritus, alopecia, self trauma, wrinkling and thickening of the skin. It can be transmitted to humans.
It produces intense itching and the lesions can spread all over the animal.

📌Demodectic mange

Demodex canis causes the potentially life-threatening condition generalized demodicosis in dogs. These mites are often transmitted from a nursing bitch to her puppies. In adult dogs, the mites generally appear when the immune system is weak.

Lesions initially apear in the muzzle and paw. These can spread all over the animal to become a chronic condition.

Your veterinarian will take deep skin scrapings and examine them under the microscope to diagnose this disease.

❗️Our pets are not able to tell us when they feel sick. Regular check up, deworming, vaccination and a healthy diet are all important to our pets but these things cannot reveal how their internal organs are functioning. Blood tests are among the most diagnostic of all the health checks.

❗️A yearly screen for any developing condition is highly recommended.

❗️Parvovirus is a highly contagious disease and spreads through direct contact with an infected dog or by indirect contact with a contaminated object. Signs include but not limited to vomiting, anorexia and diarrhea, which is often hemorrhagic.

If your dog is giving birth to a puppy stuck in the birth canal (in this case 7hours), the puppy may die. Take your dog immediately to the nearest vet clinic so the vet can remove the puppy and hopefully, deliver the other puppies.
