Is your pet heavily infested with ticks? This is a rare case of Anaplasmosis with neurological symptoms (seizure) in a 6- y.o Labrador. Anaplasmosis is a tick-borne disease caused by the infectious bacterial organism Anaplasma phagocytophilum. It is transmitted through bites of the deer tick (also known as the black-legged tick) and the Western black-legged tick. A lesser form of anaplasmosis is caused by Anaplasma platys and is transmitted by the brown dog tick. Infection with the more common form of anaplasmosis, A. phagocytophilum, often causes lameness, joint pain, fever, lethargy, and anorexia (lack of appetite). Most infected dogs will have symptoms for one to seven days; however, some will have only minor symptoms or none. Less common clinical signs include vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, and labored breathing. Rarely, neurological signs such as seizures have been reported. In this case, the patient showed remarkable improvement on the second day of treatment and responded well to the treatment line given. Why let your pets suffer if you can prevent infestation?

Dear Today’s Clients,
We thank you for choosing us to provide your pet’s veterinary needs.
We truly appreciate the people who wait patiently and the people who let emergencies or obviously unwell patients be seen by the vet first.
This is our typical Saturday.

Grooming is the secret of real elegance✂️ 🐩🐶🐾
This is “Courage”, a parvo survivor. He’s so excited getting a belly rub here at Espadera Animal Clinic and Spa Dogs roll on their back and expose their bellies to us for two main reasons: as a display of appeasement, and as a request for a belly rub. It's important to know what your dog is telling you before you go in for belly rubs.A dog adopting an appeasement gesture (also called a submissive display) is trying to diffuse social tension by showing that they're not a threat. If you pet a dog who's showing submissive or appeasing behaviors, it can make the dog more nervous because you're now touching him in very vulnerable parts of his body.

The greatest asset of a company is its people- people with different talents, abilitities, experience and backgrounds who have come together for a shared purpose. Initially, i just wanted to build a team and that team became a family.

Skin is the largest organ of the body and serves as an enclosing barrier providing environmental protection, regulating temperature, producing pigment and vitamin D, and functions in sensory perception.
This is “Sassa” a 3-y/o Shih-tzu presented to us with contaminated and infected wound which resulted from a dog fight 3-days prior to her visit.
Debridement was conducted wherein necrotic tissues were excised. Here, we have used the “advancement flaps” as surgical technique in the wound management. This technique involves sliding skin to cover an adjacent defect.
See Sassa’s recovery journey at the comment section.
Sassa’s sutures have been removed today.
Im goin' home
