We take this opportunity to address an urgent matter concerning our beloved VSAS park, which was severely damaged by Typhoon Pepito. This park, a cherished space that has long served as a gathering place for our members, lies bare and torn and in need of urgent restoration and rehabilitation works.

We are reaching out to seek your generous support in our VSAS park reconstruction project. No matter how small, monetary help from you will be crucial to clearing typhoon debris, fixing broken structures, planting new trees, landscaping, and bringing back the recreational amenities.

Each and every donation will serve its purpose for the enhancement of this vital space within VSAS, such that an improved area for entertainment, socialization, and playing out the fondness of the organization's members will emerge. We deeply mourn the loss of Dr. Emmanuel Cauinian. His knowledge, wisdom, and unwavering dedication will forever be a part of the SVM family. The words of encouragement he generously shared continue to inspire and uplift us, and we will hold them close in our hearts.

Dr. Cauinian’s legacy will live on, not only in the minds of his students but in the spirit of excellence that he cultivated in all of us. His influence has left an indelible mark, and though he is now in heaven, his impact here remains strong.

A truly remarkable doctor, teacher, and mentor, Dr. Cauinian inspired us with every lesson, guiding us to strive for greatness both inside and outside the classroom.

Thank you for everything, Doc. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Well, today, it's World Animal Day!

The Veterinary Student Achievers' Society ISU Chapter proudly join to celebrate World Animal Day, recognizing the importance of animals and standing up for their welfare in a time of growing environmental challenges.

Scientists have discovered around 2.16 million animal species, and there could be up to 100 million more yet to be found. Insects alone make up nearly 40% of these species, showing just how diverse the animal world truly is.

Today, we honor the role animals play in our ecosystems, communities, and lives. Whether it's the wildlife that inspires us or the pets that bring us joy, all animals deserve our respect and protection.

However, many are at risk due to habitat destruction, climate change, and exploitation. It's up to us to take action. By supporting conservation, promoting animal welfare, and making responsible choices, we can make a difference.

As the Dalai Lama said, "If we cannot love them as much, let us at least not hurt them."

Let’s work together to protect and care for animals today, tomorrow and forever!

It's World Rabies Day! 🦠

Rabies: Don't fear it, prevent it! ✨

Rabies is a deadly virus that affects the brain and nervous system, transmitted through the bite or saliva of infected animals. While rabies is dangerous, it’s 100% preventable with the right knowledge and action.

Rabies is commonly transmitted through the bite of an infected animal, especially dogs, cats, and wild animals. Once symptoms appear, rabies is almost always fatal, making prevention crucial.

How can we prevent rabies?
• Vaccinate your pets: Regularly vaccinate your dogs, cats, and other pets against rabies. This is the most effective way to prevent its spread.
• Be cautious around animals that may not be vaccinated like wild or stray animals.
• If bitten or scratched by an animal, wash the wound with soap and water, and go to the nearest clinic or hospital for post-exposure treatment.

Prevention is key! We must know what to do if we are bitten by an animal, especially one that might carry rabies. Early action can save lives, so let’s educate ourselves and share accurate information about rabies prevention!

Stay safe, spread awareness, and let's work together to eliminate rabies!
