Caturday Tip 💡

On cleaning litter boxes.

✅ Vets recommend that you should scoop litters in your cats’ boxes at least 1-2 times per day or as soon as they finish their business if possible.
✅ When refilling the box, add 3-4 inches of fresh cat litter
✅ Replace cat sand every week
✅ Wash the box every week with a simple dish soap

This can vary from one furrparent to another and also depends on our cats’ needs. The bottomline is it is VERY IMPORTANT to maintain a clean environment for our feline friends to keep them away from infections and serious problems.

If you are looking to adopt your new friend, always observe how the owners maintain their litter boxes. This is one of those things that separates a responsible breeder from those who are in just for 💰💰

It's not just any day, it's a special day!

On the day your cat goes into labor, you'll want to make sure you have the following items ready:

✅Birthing box & cushions - to make a comfortable nesting place for your furbaby.
✅Potty pads - heaps of it as the pads need to be changed at least twice daily to stay away from infections
✅Electric bulb - Kittens under 4 weeks of age cannot thermoregulate, and therefore rely completely on an external heat source to keep their body at an appropriate temperature.
✅Royal Canin Milk Replacer - in case your mother cat doesn't feed her kittens.
✅Miracle Ni**le - again, in case of emergencies! total life-saver!
✅Wet Food - just like humans, mother cats may not have their usual food appetite after their labor. They will surely benefit from a yummy food treat.

To Cage or Not To Cage - That is the question! 🤔

Here are a few considerations..

👉 Cats in general prefer a free life. Their nature is to hunt for strange things.
👉 They are more prone to depression because they rarely interact with the outside world. Over time, cats will become very timid and just not interested in new things.
👉 They will lack exercise, especially the growing cat. This will cause its bones to develop slowly, even stunted and its body will become more and more severe leading to many diseases such as obesity.

However, there are some exceptional circumstances when it might be necessary.

👉 When you have many guests at home, especially if they are unfamiliar faces to your cat
👉 If your cat has physical discomfort such as skin disease, diarrhea, etc. It’s best to restrict their activities to not aggravate their condition
👉 If you have a new cat at home. To prevent a cat fight, you can cage the new cat and let it out until your cats are already familiar with each other’s existence
👉 If your cats are too rowdy during your bedtime, you can also cage them to avoid accidents while you are sleeping.

In general, it’s not advisable to lock up cats in a cage for their health. If you have to, maybe 3 days tops. Annddd just look how sad cats can get when you lock them up in a cage! 🥺

Generally little furries don’t need milk during their first few weeks as they lack the proper enzymes to digest the lactose. They feed on their mother’s milk for nutrients. My Barneys are extra special tho. I feed them right away when they cry as I just can’t bear seeing them cry 😿 😸 And Dad gives them milk specially formulated for baby Barneys. He calls it Royal Canin and it’s so yummy! My Barneys are gonna grow up strong and beautiful, for sure! 💪😻 PS.
