Tag-ulan na naman at nauuso na naman leptospirosis dahil sa mga pagbabaha sa ibang lugar sa Metro Manila. Mag-ingat po tayo at ingatan din natin ang ating mga alagang a*o at pusa. Ang sakit po na ito ay zoonotic o naipapasa sa tao galing hayop.

Ang leptospirosis ay isang bacterial infection na nakukuha sa infected na ihi ng daga sa pamamagitan ng skin and mucous membrane pe*******on. Pwede itong makuha ng mga a*o at pusa sa pamamagitan ng sniffing and ingestion/licking.

Pwedeng maapektuhan ang liver at kidneys kaya kadalasan ay nagkakaroon ng paninilaw ang mga infected na a*o, pusa at tao. Kapag nasira ang kidneys at liver, pwede itong ikamatay ng infected na tao, a*o, pusa at iba pang mammals.

2. Create a safe environment. Dog-proof your house. Ensure their happiness. Play with them, be a consistent and devoted friend.

3. Keep your dog leashed in public at all times. Prevent your dog from injuring any person, property or other animals.

4. Don't skip the vet for vaccinations and regular check-ups!

5. Clean up after your dog and dispose their p**p properly.

6. Avoid unwanted pregnancies by neutering (castration/spaying).
