August 23, 2024 - It's a holiday , so I have a time to tour around Caraga Region . This time , I fulfill my long overdue dream to go to Bislig - Arburetum to see how they preserve and take care the last green place within the city . The arburetum is manage by the DENR Caraga led by sir Nathz Racho. Sir Salute to your dedication in preserving valuable native trees . Padayun ! .

Moreover , the very reason why I decided to tour around because , October 23 is a holiday due to the death of late Ninoy Aquino ( August 21 is the real holiday in relation to Ninoy Aquino assasination ) . I have planted 2 tiaong ( classified as endangered species) 1 Molave , 1 Kalantas ( classified as critically endangered species) and 1 Pili as an observance to the legacy and life of Ninoy to free our nation from dictatorship. Planting our native trees is a symbol of strong determination to love and fight for our country.

Bagu Adlau which has scientific name ( Xanthosthemon Philippinensis ) is one of the five members of Iron Woods . In the Philippines, we have Mangkono , Mapilig , Palawan Mangkono, Sierra Mangkono , and Bagu adlau . Bagu Adlau is literally , a beautiful one and standing uniquely in the forest due to its brown bark.

They are hardwood and over exploited due to poaching and illegal logging . The numbers are declining. That’s why , as environmental conservationist in tree, I am happy that I secured 2 seedlings. Slightly little , I have to nurse it in my backyard nursery and plant when it is already LPM ( Large Planting Materials) . Naka tanim na din pala ako ng Mangkono and Mapilig .I am searching for the other ironwoods species.

June 30, 2024- This day marks as my greatest journey in environmental conservation through planting native trees in this rainy season.

I planted dipterocarps which is the highlight in rainforest here in the Philippines . These trees are Guisok, Thick- Leaf Narig , Guijo , 2 Mangachapui, Yakal Kaliot , 2 Tiaong , Yakal Magasusu, 2 Narig , Yakal Saplungan , Mayapis .

Non Dipterocarp trees are 2 White Nato , Toog , Magkuno , Mapilig , 5 Tindalo , Palak - Palak , Malak - Malak , Kalantas, 2 Almaciga.

Subida ta for our home and for the next generation . There is no other day except this day for our environment.

Rebag 10 Apitong ( Dipterocarpus Grandiflorus) , 6 Bolong -Eta ( Diospyros Philosanthera), 6 Hagakhak ( Dipterocarpus Validus ) and other unindentified species this day . This will be outplanted on rainy season probably July - September this year. Hoping they will grow healthy.

Do you know what mycelium is?
The mycelium or mycorrhiza is a fungus that expands below the soil, creating a network of connections between all plant species, something like the Internet, which allows them not only to communicate, but also to take care of themselves, protect themselves, feed themselves and stock up on water.
When a tree is cut down in the forest, this mycelium communicates to the rest of the trees that one of them is dying, and the others, through the mycelium, begin to take care of the remaining trunk to try to save that life.
They feed him, give him water and protect him. Because that dying trunk is part of the forest family.

Collected to plant different species from Estradas Garden and Nursery, Malaybalay , Bukidnon . Most of these are towering trees in the Philippine Forest just like: Almon , Red Lauan , Narig , Tanguile , Yakap Saplungan , Tiaong , Toog and Mountain Agoho. These trees will be in Keytodac, Lebak , Sultan Kudarat soon .
