Regional News Group (RNG Luzon) is a multi-platform media company. It is a free-to-air Digital TV Station based in Baguio City which has recently expanded its bureaus in the Province of Pangasinan and the Province of Tarlac.
Moreover, “Ay! Agri!” is an information and entertainment program that airs live from Monday to Friday, 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM on our TV and Social Media platforms. It is an agriculture focused show that caters to the general public.
In this interview, I have discussed the various programs of the University of the Philippines Los Banos - College of Veterinary Medicine in helping our livestock raisers, particularly,
1. Partnership with the Tanauan City Veterinary Office
2. KaTe program - Kambing at Tupa extension services
3. Chickboy - chicken and baboy (pigs) extension services
4. Veterinary drug residues research study in the province of Batangas
I have also given insights on the common problems of livestock raisers, the programs that the local government units are doing to help them, and the common diseases being encountered.
Lastly, I have given several recommendations and gave examples on the best practices on livestock raising, which includes biosecurity, recordkeeping, proper nutrition, and a sound herd/flock health program which includes active monitoring of diseases and disorders, supplementation, deworming, and vaccination.
