Sharing our Testimony

It was March 2018 when we had our first shih tzu baby named Berakah, a hebrew word which means “blessing.” My husband, really loves plants and animals because it’s his stress reliever. At that time, I also like pets but not as much as when we had our own fur baby. Few months after, two more baby shih tzu joined our fur family, we named them Marie and Basar. My husband eventually started to love birds as well and later on decided to breed them. Breeding these pets gave us joy not just because of the profit, but more so, seeing the joy that these pets brings to the new family that will care for them. As what some entrepreneur says, “Kumikita ka na, masaya ka pa sa ginagawa mo.”

Because of our love for animals, the Lord gave us a vision of putting up our own pet supply shop. But it didn’t happen instantly, we waited and prayed for almost four years. We encountered many challenges, one of those is the perfect place to open the shop. At first, we thought that it would be best if we rent a commercial space so that the business will grow fast. Unfortunately, the space that we are canvassing was given to other renter. At that time, I felt very disappointed and asked God why. I thought it was His vision for us? But why is it so difficult and everything seemed so out of place. But despite the doubts and discouragement, we continued to pray and trust in God. One night, when we were about to sleep, Mark suggested that why not put up the shop in front of our house? This is an ideal place since we are in a residential area and a lot of people passes by our street. We prayed and cautiously planned for it.

Fast forward today, praise God, finally we are opening our pet supply shop! We renovated the front area of our house and I was amazed on how it turned out. A tiny, yet, beautiful store that sells excellent quality products. I am still amazed on how God answered our prayers, not in the way that we expected it to be, but in God’s way which is far better and the best. Sometimes, we may think that our dreams and visions are impossible because of the challenges and we get easily disheartened and sometimes give up on them easily. But if we let God move, trust Him 100%, and surrender our dreams and vision to Him, He will fulfill it according to His plans. Proverbs 19:21 says, “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”

Yesterday, we finally opened MAKARIOS PET SUPPLIES AND ACCESSORIES SHOP! “Makarios” means happy and blessed which is exactly what we are feeling right now. And hoping that through our small business every pets and their loving owners would feel exactly the same – happy and blessed! Truly, in all things GOD works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. To God be all the glory!!
