How to predict and plan your poodle color breeding.
Do not forget the recessive genes coming from the ancestors too.
Plan wisely, do not experiment.
Linebreed once in a while not too often, only choose best of the litters among cousins to get the desired feature.
Avoid inbreed, they tend to get the best features but at the same time acquire the genetic diseases too.
Insert black at least once in each generation to stabilize dark and light colors.
Stay close to the color shade of the dam when choosing a sire, this way you will lessen the fading of the coats of the offspring.
Plan ahead, check the ancestry of the sire before throwing the 2 together, family planning is still best.
Do not go beyond 3 inches height difference between the dam and sire or else you'll get a puppy that is too long.
Physical features of the dam and sire should compliment each other. If dam has fading genes, look for a sire that doesn't have that, or much better use black.
