"Askal" and "Aspin" are terms used to describe native dogs in the Philippines. They stand for "Asong Kalye" and "Asong Pinoy," respectively, which translate to "street dog" and "native dog" in English.

Using the right term to describe our duly recognized pinoy breed can help promote a more inclusive and positive image for these amazing pets.

While we're making the right switch in the way we refer our furry companions it's equally important to get reminded that both Askals and Aspins play significant roles in Filipino society, not only as pets but also as symbols of resilience, adaptability, and cultural identity.

Make the switch in the way we refer to our beloved furry friends. Instead of calling them 'Askal', use the term 'Aspins'. Aspins are a unique breed of dogs that are native to the Philippines. By using the term 'Aspins', we hope to promote a more inclusive and positive image for these amazing dogs. So let's all embrace this change and start using 'Aspins' from now on!

Did you know that our pets can suffer from heatstroke?

Philippines have reported several areas with heat indexes above danger levels!

Here's a hot weather awareness for you and your furbabies.

Heatstroke occurs when a dog's body temperature rises to a dangerous level, typically above 40°C. This elevation in temperature can cause damage to internal organs and potentially lead to death if not treated promptly.

It's important to recognize the symptoms of heatstroke, what we can do to help our pets, and how to prevent this from happening.

It is Rabies Awareness Month! 🙌

Raising awareness about this significant global health issue is crucial for public health. This includes knowing how to avoid contact with potentially rabid animals, understanding the importance of vaccination for pets, and knowing what to do in case of a bite or scratch from an animal.
