Thank you for trusting us with Amber Sophia and we're glad you're finally going home healthy!
Amber, a 4 month-old, unvaccinated Siberian Husky was brought by her mom as she was showing symptoms of parvovirus. With 5 days of keen observation, treatment, and dedication, Amber is fully-recovered and is healthy enough to go home.
Canine parvovirus is a contagious virus mainly affecting dogs. CPV is highly contagious and is spread from dog to dog by direct or indirect contact with their f***s. Mortality can reach 91% in untreated cases. And your pets may die within 24-72 hours, if left untreated.
Vaccines are highly-recommended for puppies. Though they are not 100% protected, their chances of infection is highly reduced.
Unfortunately, there is no cure for parvo. So it is best to visit the veterinarian as soon as symptoms appear. Symptoms include: vomiting, lethargy, diarrhea (usually bloody) and fever. Your doctor would have to treat your dogs as the symptoms appear.
So, protect your furbabies. Make sure to get them vaccinated. And if you see any signs, feel free to contact Paoay Animal Clinic.
