Hatchlings with peculiar paint jobs.

These two babies hatched on the same day, and were both incubated at the same temperature (30-31 Celcius).

I took time to appreciate the contrast in their color, as one is as white as snow, and the other as dark as coal.

Their colors will of course develop differently due to their genetics, but hatching gecko eggs never fail to surprise me. We just won’t know what we got until they pop out.

Sharing some of the hatchlings of our first breeding season.

They were sired by a male from O’fielle Geckos, paired with a female from Exotic Pets Commonwealth.

Excited to see how their colors will develop after a couple more weeks.

This is particularly true with breeding. So fortunate to have this amazing gecko in my collection because he fathered several beautiful hatchlings. One of which I just recently posted.

1st picture at 10 days old and the second at 17 days. So far, the most promising hatchling for my first breeding season. Looking forward to her color development, as she grows.

These two ladies looked like they were talking to each other, so I thought of “Marites”(Mare, ano ang latest?), a word coined here in the 🇵🇭 , refering to someone who is fond of gossiping.

While we all enjoy and want to be updated with the most recent news and trends, we also need to make sure that we get information from legitimate sources and references. It is the most fundamental part of keeping/breeding reptiles, yet it also seems to be the most neglected part.

In order for us to give our animals the best care that they deserve, we should do our due diligence to study and research about proper husbandry, not just by relying on hearsay, like a Marites.

Hoping to be able to incorporate this Bell Albino male into my future breeding projects.

I am seeing good qualities that I want to further enhance. One would be the dark brown coloration of his head patterns and the nose band.

One of the most rewarding moments of being a leopard gecko keeper, soon to be breeder, is that after a hard week at work and it’s finally time to do some cleaning, you get to take a closer look at your collection and appreciate their development both in size and color.
Some would even greet you with a smile. Would you agree?
