Posted • For those who don't know, im actually a veterinary student. Last April, we were able to perform cystotomy surgery and castrate the patient as well. I was also tasked for the after care of our patient and took care of him for 2 weeks. 4th pic was from his 2nd day post-operation, 5th pic is 8th day post-operation.

The bread and butter of our success lies greatly with the surgical technique and post-surgery management. Our post-op care included immune supplement: Immunol which will help boost the appetite of the patient & wound ointment: Canisep which will generally be responsible for the closing and healing of the wound. Our Immunol & Canisep cream from .ph was sent to us almost over a year ago, back then I only had Hiccup & Honda + Helsi so I had plenty of left over products (even when i shared it with local rescuers, family & friends). I had great hopes with using their Canisep cream since it is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-maggot but it simply exceeded my expectations! I just know i'll continue trusting this brand when I finally become a licensed veterinarian 💯🤍💚

2. Stop Bleeding: Apply pressure using a clean towel and an ice pack. The severity will affect how long it takes to stop bleeding.

3. Evaluate the damage: Minor cuts may heal at home, but deep wounds or persistent bleeding require a vet's attention. Jagged cuts may need sutures and thorough cleaning under sedation.

4. Bandage: Cover the wound with Canisep or antibiotic ointment. Secure it with paper tape, ensuring it's snug yet allows two fingers underneath. Protect from moisture.
