STRAY LOVE PH·WEDNESDAY, JULY 29, 2020·

Stray Love Ph is an active animal rescue org that was put up primarily to save the lives of stray dogs and cats that are classified “emergencies” and languish in the streets of Metro Manila and the nearby provinces within the Calabarzon and Central Luzon Regions. The org also dedicates its time to rescuing and easing the plight of an

imals that are sick, maimed, neglected, abandoned and abused. Stray Love Ph has been instrumental in saving hundreds of dog and cat lives from being euthanized at the City Pounds of Zamboanga and Metro Manila! The org has also managed to rescue several illegally detained Macaques in Mandaluyong, Batangas and Clark with the help of the DENR rescue team! In the aftermath of the deadly Taal Volcano eruption last January, Stray Love Ph managed to rescue several horses who were about to be sold by their owners to horse meat traders when they realized that these animals who have provided them their main source of income for years, would no longer be of any use to them. Aside from the horses who are now enjoying their lives in the farms of their new owners, the Stray Love Ph Team also rescued several animals (dogs, cats, ducks, chickens & a monkey) in different parts of Batangas that were hard hit by the eruption. While most of these animals have been reunited with their owners, those that have been not been claimed are in the care of a private shelter whose needs are being financed by the organization thru the help of donors. To date, Stray Love Ph has come to the aid of animal emergency cases not only in Metro Manila and parts of Luzon, but also, in Zamboanga, Ilo-Ilo and Cebu. It is the aim of Stray Love Ph to evoke an awareness in people on the plight of the suffering voiceless! To encourage them not to turn a blind eye to dogs and cats they see wasting away in the streets. The Stray Love Ph Team dreams of spreading viral love and compassion campaigns so more people will want to donate to this worthwhile endeavor of saving the lives of these voiceless and oftentimes helpless creatures. Stray Love Ph has started promoting Spay and Neuter Campaigns to Barangays and LGUs, as well as campaigning against Animal Cruelty & Irresponsible Ownership!

An urgent plea to dog food manufacturers, importers, suppliers who wish to dispose or donate of your near expiry dog food stocks. Will you please consider our shelter of 250 dogs?🙏🏻🐾

We are now down to our last two 20 kilo sacks.😔

Our expenditures are many and we feel so overwhelmed with the monthly expenses -both in running our shelter and also in settling our massive Vet bills.

Please help us. We are more than willing to have the near expiry dog food picked up.

For a few months now, we’ve been searching for the possibility of relocating our dogs to a new location we can call home.

One of the biggest struggles we have had for almost a year now is the absence of electricity in our shelter. Two typhoons and the many monsoon rains after have wreaked havoc on our shelter. The shoddy work carried out by our contractors all contributed to the fast wear and tear of our shelter structures.

Today, we watch with heavy hearts our shelter fall apart by the day. Rust and rot have seeped in. Our shelter has long been needing major repairs—but we have not been able to begin any construction or improvements, because of the absence of electricity. We would have preferred to procure the land thru a staggered payment basis so that we could build structures needed to keep our beloved rescues safe and dry -not on borrowed land but on one we can eventually call our own.
Several kind hearted people stepped up and offered us the use of their properties - but these were in far away Nueva Ecija or Camsur. because of the many challenges we face.

Thankfully, a kind neighbor offered to let us connect through a submeter. This gives us hope. But in order to make it possible, we need 300 meters of wire to reach our shelter from the main source.

This is where we need your support, dearest friends.

Your donations which will be used to buy the long wire we need to get that connection - will allow us the opportunity to provide a safer, more comfortable shelter for our rescues and caretakers.

Every contribution, no matter how small, will lead us closer to our dream of "powering" up our home for the dogs who depend on us.

PLEASE - HELP US make this happen.

Our rescues have been living in the dark for far too long. We have had to make do with "emergency hires" of caretakers who presented themselves as dog lovers but, who ended up robbing our shelter of our solar powered panels and lights as well as our stored rolls of wire. This, even if we had taken pity on them and gave in to their many loans and cash advances😔

We need to address this problem now -not just for our dear rescues but, also so we can hire the right caretakers.

Will you please help us?

While our country's headlines are filled with stories of corrupt politicians-those who take more than they give-our streets are filled with another kind of victim: stray dogs and cats.

Unlike those in power, these voiceless souls never ask for much. A little food, a little water, a safe place to sleep, shelter from the storm and just a li'l bit of kindness.

And yet, they're left to fend for themselves-abandoned, starving and vulnerable.

At our shelter, we see every day what true "public service" should look like. It's in feeding the hungry, treating the wounded, and giving the voiceless a chance at life.

Imagine if the same compassion and integrity were practiced by those who hold power.

If you're also tired of the empty promises and the insatiable greed of those who actually have superfluous resources to help uplift lives, especially, of the least prioritized in society - can we be the ones to help make a difference in the lives of those who can't help themselves?

* Adopt, don't shop
*Donate dog food or supplies
*Support local shelters like ours with limited funding or that run on personal funds

Because in a world where corruption robs us of hope, saving even one stray is an a reminder of what humanity should truly stand for.

UPDATE ON LOLA WH**EY 🐾
She’s finally at the shelter! Thank you to everyone who helped us secure her large cage! 💛

Lola Wh**ey spent her whole life caged, leaving her traumatized and aggressive. For now, keeping her in a secure space is the only way to keep her, our caretakers, and other rescues safe. We’re hopeful that, with time, she’ll learn to trust and one day run free. ✨

Her vet bills have now reached ₱90,000 and remain unpaid. Please consider donating so we can continue helping Lola Wh**ey and saving more lives. Every bit counts. 💕

Meet Derek

When we took Derek off the streets, there was a heaviness about him - as if all hope had gone. He was weak, frail, and struggling to survive in a world that didn't seek to want him around.

Like many strays, his test results showed grim results. He was severely anemic, with high infection, with a group of was battling bronchitis, an illness that comes from being constantly exposed to the heat, rain, and cold.

But we didn't let Derek's story end there. We knew we couldn't re-write his past but, we definitely could do something to give him a better future.

And so we set out to doing exactly that. Over time and with the proper care and loads of love being showered him, Derek slowly regained his strength.

Today, he’s not just in the pink of health—he’s one of our proud and mischievous Ambassadogs 🐾

Visitors at the shelter can’t help but break into laughter whenever Derek greets them with his funny little habit of poking his head between their legs. Perhaps, it is his unique way of saying, “Welcome, you’re family here.” 💛

For only ₱1,000 a month, you can sponsor Derek and help us give him the life he truly deserves—a life where he is safe, cared for, and never alone again.

Be Derek’s Earth Angel.

Dear friends and supporters,

We are saddened to share that our shelter’s solar panels and batteries were stolen by our two previous caretakers. As you know, the shelter relies heavily on solar power, and right now, we only manage with a few solar lights while waiting for electricity to be connected (hopefully soon).

If you have extra solar lights, panels, or batteries that you no longer use, please consider donating them to our shelter. Your help will truly light up the lives of our rescues and make their nights safer and brighter.

Every little bit of light matters—for them, and for us who continue to fight for their well-being.

Our rescues depend on your kindness to stay healthy and strong. We are reaching out to pet shops, dog food manufacturers, and distributors who may have stocks available — even near expiry dog food is very much welcome.
Your donation will go a long way in keeping our shelter dogs nourished while they wait for their forever homes.

Please send us a message if you would like to donate or partner with us. You can also find our donation QR code at the photos below.
Together, let’s give these rescued dogs the love and care they deserve!
