Our emergency patient last night. Aki. ❤️
Was brought to us panting with involuntary muscle twitching and stiffening.
A mother of 7 puppies and was diagnosed with hypocalcemia (eclampsia).

Hypocalcemia is a life threatening disease caused by extreme fall in circulating calcium concentration in lactating dogs or cats. Symptoms can vary from weakness, muscle twitching, to convulsions and seizures.

Please do visit your neighborhood Veterinarian for pre- natal checkup and after birth care to prevent this case.
