About Apikultura Producers Cooperative

The APC was organized in Quezon City, Philippines, in the year of 2016, and it is composed of Filipino beekeepers and bee enthusiasts. The word “Apikultura” is the Filipino translation of “Apiculture” which means the science and art of raising honeybees. The APC with very limited resources and with a minimum of processing and packing equipment commenced ope

rations in a rented property in Quezon City. The Cooperative started with just four colonies of European honeybees, Apis mellifera and it continued to grow and expand. The goal of APC is to promote beekeeping in the Philippines as a worthy and sustainable endeavor which would benefit both the people and the environment. Specifically, it aims to produce and market beekeeping products and by products, tools and equipment, and to encourage Filipino folks to engage in beekeeping as their supplemental livelihood and also to raise collective consciousness and awareness in the positive environmental impacts that achieved from beekeeping. A study shows that some agricultural crops increased their yields from 30-70% through pollination of bees. At this time, the APC processes high quality, pure raw honey under the brand name of Bee Republic.
