Cooper is a very brave 5 Years old Shih tzu.
He has undergone Inguinal Hernia surgical procedure

What is an Inguinal Hernia (Luslos)?
This occurs in male dogs by congenital(in-born) or acquired later in life(trauma).
It is when the abdominal contents such as fat or intestines protrude though the inguinal canal, an opening in the abdominal wall near the groin area.
Through physical examination and or by imaging to determine the condition.
Surgical procedure is the only treatment with postoperative care like pain management, restriction of his activities, administration of medications, and follow up vet visits to ensure the proper healing process.

𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐨𝐠𝐬 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫?

There are various ways on how to make your dogs and cats get along. By following these steps you can create a peaceful home.

1. 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿
- Dogs and cats will more likely to fight if you force them to be together suddenly. Begin by separating them for 3-4 days in separate rooms and out of sight.

2. 𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗶𝗻
- To let them be familiar with each other presence it is important to let them sniff each other smell to get to know others before they know them face to face. (e.g. by rubbing towel on your dog and then putting the towel under the cats bowl).

3. 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺
- To let them associate the smell they are smelling (feed them on separate sides on the same door).

4. 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘅𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲
- If they seemed to be terrified, wait until they are adjusted. (hold your cat in your arms until it calmed and relaxed. Leash the dog and slowly make them closer gradually. Do not let them make physical contact for the first time. (or keep the dog inside the cage while the cat outside to get them used the presence of each other).

5. 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿
- They are like people, they get jealous when you give too much attention to the other.

6. 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻
- Do not force them interacted for too long because this maybe make them exhausted which can lead to conflict. Just make it brief and pleasant (repeat this session gradually by increasing the amount length of interaction)

7. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘅𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲
- See for yourself if they are comfortable enough after several weeks of training.
