Heartworm infection is a serious and potentially fatal disease. Treatment is possible in dogs, but can be risky, depending on the severity of the infection. However, there is no approved treatment available for cats.

Heartworm infection in pets occurs all over the world, particularly in areas where mosquitoes are prevalent and rainy season.

Emergency Surgery: Caesarean Section of a 1-year-old, Long Hair Chihuahua.

Emergency caesarean section was done due to difficulty in laboring. Our team delivered two healthy puppies. 🐶

Mocha was brought to the clinic with a history of abortion and the emergence of a tumor-like mass in her upper right mammary gland.

Upon examination and a series of laboratory tests, abnormal cell growth was observed through FNA biopsy.

Mocha underwent surgical removal of the mammary tumor.

After several months from surgery and therapy, Mocha has now fully recovered.

Oral health is a very important part of your pet’s overall health, and dental problems can cause other serious health problems. Oral bacteria can enter the blood stream and affect distant organs like the heart, the liver and the kidneys.

Have your pet’s teeth checked sooner if you observe any of the following problems:

* Bad breath
* Broken or loose teeth
* Extra teeth or retained baby teeth
* Teeth that are discolored or covered in tartar
* Abnormal chewing, drooling, or dropping food from the mouth
* Reduced appetite or refusal to eat
* Pain in or around the mouth
* Bleeding from the mouth
* Swelling in the areas surrounding the mouth

Your pet’s teeth and gums should be checked at least once or twice a year by your veterinarian for early signs of problems and to keep your pet’s mouth healthy.

EMERGENCY CAESARIAN SECTION

Dystocia is a common disorder which can mean any type of difficult birth in dogs. There are several types of dystocia that can happen at any stage of labor and delivery. All of these difficulties are dangerous enough to be life threatening to the birthing canine and her pups.

The symptoms depend on the cause of the dystocia, but the most common are:

🐾 Labor starts less than 56 days after conception
🐾 Labor has not started after 70 days
🐾 Bloody discharge
🐾 Green or black discharge for several hours without delivering
🐾 Vomiting
🐾 Strong contractions for more than an hour without delivering
🐾 Fetus trapped in the birth canal
🐾 Straining more than two hours without delivering
🐾 Longer than five hours between delivering puppies
🐾 Fever higher than 103 degrees Fahrenheit (39.5°C)
🐾 Extreme lethargy or weakness without delivering any puppies

There are many types of dystocia, but the most commonly reported are:

1. Abnormal position of the fetus
2. Extremely large fetus
3. Birth canal too small
4. Lack of effective uterine contractions

If your fur-baby is pregnant, seek advice from your Veterinarian for the proper monitoring of the development of the puppies until the full term of pregnancy.

Entropion is a condition where the eyelids turn inward abnormally. This can lead to the eyelashes rubbing against the eye's surface, potentially causing discomfort, corneal ulcers, perforations, or the development of pigmentation on the cornea, potentially affecting vision.

Entropion typically originates from developmental or anatomical issues and is commonly observed in young, fast-growing dogs. However, it can also arise as a secondary condition due to eye irritation, like a corneal ulcer, leading to eyelid spasms. In addition, it may develop after an injury or inflammation causing scarring that results in the eyelid turning inward.
