📣Did you know? The DOST-PCHRD, under its Brain and Mental Health R&D program, supports projects like Project PAATTS: Pioneering animal-assisted therapy for female adolescent trauma survivors in the Philippines, which aims to harness the healing power of furry friends for mental health.
This initiative, led by Dr. Cecilia A. Tuazon of the National Center for Mental Health, focuses on using animal-assisted therapy to help female adolescent trauma survivors in the Philippines.
Animal-assisted therapy has been shown to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, boost self-esteem, and provide comfort through the companionship of animals. In this project, therapy animals will play a vital role in creating a safe environment for participants to express themselves and begin the healing process. 💙
