The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) is offering free spay and neuter services to indigent pet owners every month through its Kapon for All Pets (KfAP) program, in collaboration with partners Vets in Practice and Modern Pet.

According to PAWS' Facebook post Sunday, the free spay and neuter services are available at partner clinics' branches in Alabang, Muntinlupa City; Mandaluyong City; Ortigas Center; Pasay City; Pasig City; Quezon City; and Taguig City.

Looking for a way to get back at your ex this Valentine’s Day? Look no further than this New Jersey animal shelter. Spoiler alert: It’s for a good cause, too. Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center in Blackwood, New Jersey, is letting people name a stray cat after their ex and have it spayed or neutered for $50. Their tagline? 'Some things shouldn’t breed.'

According to the shelter, the idea popped up during a brainstorming meeting about cool ways to raise funds. The promotion is meant to curb the stray cat population, and the shelter hopes the donations will help keep its spay and neuter program running.

Eric Schwartz, the director of development for Homeward Bound, said the shelter has already received more than 40 names. ‘It's just kind of taken off and we're certainly appreciative of the attention that it can bring to these animals,’ Schwartz said.
