Are AGEs shortening your dogโs life?๐ฆ
AGEs (advanced glycation end products) are harmful compounds created when foods, particularly proteins, are cooked or processed at high temperatures (kibble, canned, even some home-cooked foods). ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
Animal and human studies show consuming foods high in AGEs results in inflammation and potentially organ damage, with more than half of absorbed AGEs bound in the liver and kidneys. Scientists believe accumulation of these AGEs in the body over time may be a significant contributor of aging.
On tomorrowโs Inside Scoop episode, Dr. David Turner, a leading expert in the field of AGE research, is joining us to explain how AGEs affect our pets' health (and ours) and share how we can make more informed decisions about the foods we feed in order to help us prevent incapacitating diseases.
Weโll also be talking about:
๐ฅ More than just a kibble problem - what to know when home cooking
๐ฒ What to do to help fight AGE accumulation
๐ฅฉ How to feed your dog or cat in light of AGEs
We hope you join us Sunday at 12pm ET for this important, but not often discussed topic.
