Life cycle of the HEARTWORM begins when a 🦟 mosquito bites and feeds on the blood of an infected dog that is carrying tiny immature heartworm (microfilaria) in its blood.
Symtoms includes a persistent dry cough which seen in dogs with advanced heartworm disease, exercise intolerance, fatigue after moderate activity, decreased appetite.
Your furbaby can prevent this disease through heartworm prevention.

A 10 month old Shihtzu visited us with chief complaint of anorexia.
Upon checking his temperature (rectal) we're surprised to find maggots in the thermometer
and upon checking CRT multiple maggots was found in his oral cavity.
On closer inspection his fur, fly eggs and larva are also found in his body eating his flesh and swarming around .
This is a case of Generalized MYASIS
What is Myasis ❓️
Myiasis is an infestation of living animals with dipteran fly larvae. Fly eggs laid on moist skin or in wounds hatch into larvae (maggots) that secrete proteolytic enzymes and digest cutaneous tissue. It is common in cats and dogs, especially in animals that are weakened, have urine-soaked skin, or are paretic.
