Tiny parasites, big problems!

Ear mites can cause intense itching and lead to otitis media (middle ear infection) if left untreated.

They can cause intense itching, inflammation, and dark ear discharge.

These ectoparasites are commonly found in cats—especially kittens—and dogs, and are highly prevalent in shelters and multi-pet households. They spread primarily through direct contact with infested animals.

Routine ear checks, regular use of parasiticides and grooming, and early isolation of infected animals can prevent the outbreaks.

Dr. Briones, the Chief Surgeon, and the team, proceeded with an emergency caesarean section on a four-year-old cat that had been in labor for almost 24 hours. Due to prolonged labor, the patient’s left uterine horn ruptured. As a result, fetal fluid and waste spilled into the abdominal cavity and organs. To save the patient from severe infection and prevent multiorgan damage, the uterus was removed.
