Enjoy summer with your puppy while keeping safe from the common health problems brought by the Dry Season.
🐾 Carry your pet if necessary.
- Your pup's paws are still soft, there's a tendency that they could get burns from hot pavements.
🐾 Don’t over exert your dog
- Avoid over-exercising your puppy. Take your dog for his/her walk early in the morning or late evening.
🐾 Keep your puppy hydrated.
- Most dogs may suffer dehydration, especially during hot weather. Make sure to provide them with clean water. Ensure that you bring a water bottle for your dog when going outside.
🐾 Watch out for any signs of dehydration.
- Excessive drooling, laboured breathing, bloodshot eyes, increased heart rate, restlessness, inelastic skin are some of the signs of dehydration. If this happens, see your vet immediately.
🐾 Never leave your puppy in the car.
- Due to high temperature, your dog can quickly suffer suffocation or worst heat stroke.
🐾 Check daily for fleas and ticks
- Check your dog daily and change your dog’s bedding frequently. Ask your vet for the appropriate medical prescriptions to keep your dogs pest-free.
🐾 Don’t shave your dog
- Avoid shaving your dog, their layers of fur help them protect from overheating and sunburn. Hairless dogs and dogs with light-colored fur are most likely to get sunburns.
