Did you know that snake plants can bloom flowers? It’s extremely uncommon so I was surprised to see a stalk of flowers hiding in the middle of my snake plant. For snake plants, a blooming flower is a signal that the plant is already root bound - root system has grown so much and has already completely taken over the pot. In other words, it’s a signal to repot!

This plant was recently repotted using our signature Maharlika Farms Potting Mix just about a month ago. Oh what good quality soil can do!! ☺️😍

After finishing your milk, juice or any good, simply cut open one side to create your pot. Fill it with your favorite seed starter mix about 3/4 or 4/5 full. Lastly, plant your seed! 💚

TOILET PAPER ROLLS as seed starter pot

Repurpose your good old toiler paper cores! Follow these steps to upcycle them:

1. Cut the tissue paper tube in half.
2. On one end of the tissue paper tube, make 4 cuts approx. 1/2 inch long to create 4 flaps of equal size.
3. Fold one flap, followed by the two adjacent flaps (clockwise).
4. Fold the last flap and tuck in its corner under the adjacent corner of the first flap.
5. Fill the pot with your favorite seed starter mix about 3/4 or 4/5 full.

SODA PLASTIC BOTTLES as seed starter pot (it's even self watering!)

Let's admit it, we all tried to avoid it but we simply cannot. Soda just makes any meal 10x better. We're sure there's soda plastic bottles lying around your homes. Follow these steps to upcycle them:

1. Cut the plastic bottle in half.
2. Add some water to the bottom half of the bottle. Fill 1/5 of it with water.
3. Fill the top half with your favorite seed starter mix about 3/4 or 4/5 full.
4. Plant your seed! 💚
5. Place the pot filled with soil on top of the soda bottle's bottom half filled with water to convert your simple pot into a self-watering pot system!

Finished up a whole box of cereals? Don't feel bad and throw them just yet! Follow these steps to upcycle them:

1. After enjoying your snack, open up the top lid and make sure there's no plastic or any cereal left inside.
2. Using a sharp knife or scissor, make little holes at the bottom of the cup. Remember to be careful around sharp tools 😊
3. Fill the box with your favorite seed starter mix about 3/4 or 4/5 full.

Done juicing your favorite citrus? Don't throw them just yet! Follow these steps to upcycle them:

1. Cut your citrus plant in half, use it for whatever purpose you want while leaving the skin part intact.
2. Hollow out any remaining inside parts of the fruit. If you need a stable pot, just choose a citrus with thicker white part below the skin.
2. Using a sharp knife or scissor, make little holes at the bottom of the cup. Remember to be careful around sharp tools 😊
3. Fill the fruit with your favorite seed starter mix about 3/4 or 4/5 full.

Out of milk and you find yourself only left with the plastic milk bottle? Don't throw them just yet! Follow these steps to upcycle them:

1. Outline the portion of your milk bottle that you want to cut out. As a general guide, you would want to cut out either:
a. Full top half of the milk bottle for your basic pot
b. Half (diagonal angle) of the top half of the milk bottle for a nice and simple hanging pot (see photo)
2. Using a sharp knife or scissor, cut along your outline and make little holes at the bottom of the bottle. Remember to be careful around sharp tools 😊
3. Fill the cup with your favorite seed starter mix about 3/4 or 4/5 full.
4. Plant your seed! 💚

It's crazy how fast our snake plant grew using our special soilless mix! 🤯🤯🤯

1. As much as possible, try to keep your egg shell as intact as possible. Ideally, one egg can yield two small pots.
