'PASTOR BING' SYLVANO CAPICENIO BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN PASTOR GUILTY OF EXTREME DOG CRUELTY
PASTOR GUILTY OF CRUELTY TOWARD HIS OWN DOG
On June 14, 2019, “Pastor Bing” Sylvano Capicenio leashed his dog, Brain, behind his motorcycle and took him on a reckless ride across town. Onlookers were horrified to see Brain struggling to keep pace, resulting in severe exhaustion and leaving a trail of blood from his profusely injured paws.
The incident was caught by many onlookers and street CCTV footage, posted in the comments. Other motorists were already shouting at the driver about the dog dragging along behind him.
Cielo, one eyewitness, confronted Sylvano about his inhumane treatment of Brain, but he callously dismissed her concerns, responding along the lines of, “This is just nothing– this is my own pet.”
Seeing the blood marks from Brain’s paws scattered on the road, another eyewitness, John Michael, intervened and confronted Pastor Bing, warning him of the potential legal consequences of his actions, to which the pastor, unfazed, just replied, “Okay. Sue me. I am not afraid.”
Upon hearing this exchange, Cielo turned around, asked for his name, and vowed to take legal action against him, as he had suggested. She filed a case with PAWS and took the stand alongside John Michael, determined to hold Sylvano accountable for Brain’s suffering.
The court recognized that regardless of whether it was a single instance or lapse of judgment, the act unquestionably negatively impacted Brain’s well-being, causing severe physical injuries and likely trauma. Therefore, Sylvano was convicted of animal cruelty.
This case serves as a stark reminder that OWNERSHIP DOES NOT EXCUSE CRUELTY; it does not automatically absolve us of any wrongdoing or harm we cause our pets.
We are still, and arguably even more so, liable and accountable for the actions we commit toward our own pets, as owning them means we are supposed to be committed to and responsible for their well-being.
CRUELTY AGAINST ALL ANIMALS, WHETHER OUR OWN OR NOT, IS AGAINST THE LAW.
