AN OPEN LETTER TO OUR FANS, CRITICS, & VIEWERS:
We remember over 2 years ago, when we had our first litter, and 3 Clear Reds puppies came out. We didn't know about it, and we were devastated with the amount of bashings and criticisms we get from people, saying how that Parmesan and our other Clear Reds -- Percy and Leia -- were called "faults", "albino", "not pure", "cross or mixed", or "mutts".
That led us to make an expensive decision to test our dogs. With the help of The Doberman Diversity Project, we have secured a Doberman DNA Testing Package -- it is a low-cost, one-swab, Doberman DNA testing that supports research to better the breed -- and it is done thru Embark Vet, by which most of their co-founders, scientists, and geneticists are from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Lexie, our founding female with unknown history/pedigree and also the mother of Parmesan, turns out to be 86.10% Doberman and 13.9% Mixed Ancestry (composed of 7.60% German Shepherd and 6.30% Rottweiler). This again, discouraged us.
However, by the time Parmesan's results came in, we were beyond amazed.
Not only did he turned out to be 100% Doberman, he is also CLEAR and not at increased risk for the genetic health conditions. Aside from that, his COI is 22%, which is among the lowest markers for a PUREBRED Doberman.
Here we show his 2 result templates for transparency:

Now on to it's coat color -- why he is Golden or Aureate. This actually prompt us to book a one-hour consultation call from Embark's in-house Canine Geneticists.
The explanation goes like this:
If you take a look at the test results, he is carrying an "ee" allele. Dogs with TWO COPIES of the recessive "e" allele do not produce dark hairs at all, and will be “red” over their entire body. The shade of red, which can range from a deep copper to yellow/gold to cream, is dependent on other genetic factors including the Intensity loci.
Hence, he and his two other siblings are called or .
And nope, he is NOT ALBINO either, as he does not carry Z-Albinism factor. I hate to disappoint those who insist on this.
Just because they're not producing dark hairs does not mean they are less of a .
Yes, they are not of standard colors, but so are the Blue dobermans. FYI, Blue dobermans weren't accepted as Standards before, until someone stood up and tried to sue AKC for discrimination.
Yes, they are not of standard colors, but they're WAY healthier and less genetic bottleneck than your champion dogs.
Our original aim why we tested our dogs is to just to find out if they're pure or not. But thanks to some kind-hearted breeders from US who guided us on how to understand, read, and USE PROPERLY the test results, now our aim is to BETTER THE BREED.
And we cannot achieve that if we keep breeding them for the sake of "confirming to the standards". Bottlenecking the genes by STRICTLY doing line breeding for the purpose of looks, will be the DEATH of this breed.
They are bred to work, NOT to ramp on stage.
Even European Dobermans were once BRED OUT and CROSSED to Great Dane (ever wonder why they're bigger body than American Dobermans??) just to diversify the gene pool because it's too bottleneck; the dogs are dropping dead as early as 8 months old (https://www.facebook.com/rkdobermanns/posts/174630137214447)
So to those who will try to tell us again that our Dobermans are "faults", "albino", "not pure", "cross or mixed", or "mutts", please know that we put A LOT of effort and money to DO THE RIGHT THING for this breed.
Mahiya naman kayo, calling us backyard breeders, when we've spent over $1,000 for test kits, para lang to know how to match-make or kanino i-bre-breed ang mga dogs namin...
While kayo naman, import ng import lang kayo ng mga sakitin na dogs from Europe, nagpapa-uto sa mga foreigner Sellers who told you na tested daw yung dogs na binili nyo, pero di nyo naman dini-disclose ang mga test results (kasi hindi naman talaga sila nag D-DNA testing eh, puro fake yung mga tests kuno nila, kasi nga lahat ng Europe dogs are too in**ed, oh eto link https://doberbase.ru/dog/ kayo na bahala humanap sa mga champ dogs history nyong mga sakitin).
And let me be clear about this...
WE DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR STUPID STANDARDS, kasi you can have a perfectly looking, "confirmed to standards" doberman, but still comes out mixed breed on DNA results. And DNA don't lie (wink-wink).
WE ONLY CARE ON SAVING THIS BREED -- their genes that attributes to their characteristics and temperaments, the same genes that makes doberman a Doberman no matter what coat color or markings they carry -- even if it means crossing them out to a different, healthier breed just to eliminate those nasty DCM and other genetic conditions (we know how to breed them back to 100% Doberman naman eh).
You can trashtalk all you want (kasi ang bottomline nito is butthurt at jelly lang naman kayo eh), but you CANNOT STOP us, NOR BAN us from producing off-color, but HEALTHIER Doberman puppies.
They're more than just breeding stocks to us. They've helped up countless times. They're our companions. They're part of our family, and this our homage and way of thanking the breed.
