To clarify - Poisoning does not mean foul-play by Megaword management or any one individual, it can also be caused by plain ignorance or stupidity.

For example rat poison/bait left in an area accessible to the cats or pesticide sprayed close to food bowls and water sources.

This is the CKC.

Due to many happenings, a major one being the pandemic, the operations of CKC has stopped in the rescue, foster, and adopt front.

However, we want to restart the project but this time, we will be focusing on spreading information and education on pet care AND how people can start fostering on their own.

We will also try to aid other rescue initiatives and help them get their fur babies to better homes.

For those who need fostering services or need help adopting out their pets, you may reach out to us and we’ll help find matches for you! But we strictly cannot foster any animals for the time being.

ANNOUNCEMENT | FREE WALK-IN ANTI-RABIES VACCINATION will resume starting SEPTEMBER 28, 2021.

Vaccination will be from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at City Veterinary Office Tent located at the main gate of Santa Rosa City Hall.

Only 30 pets per day will be accommodate on a first come, first serve basis.

Residents of a barangay in Buenavista, Marinduque expressed their anger after their dogs were killed by authorities based on an ex*****on order issued by the local government on Wednesday, August 19.

According to a news report, a man in Barangay Yook, Buenavista was caught on video shooting a dog point-blank while another individual was seen carrying the body of a slain dog.

Sandy, not her real name, shared that the barangay captain arrived together at her house with a man allegedly to inject anti-rabies vaccine for the dogs.

“Pagkatapos po noon, dumating po ‘yung doktor. Sabi po nila doktor daw po ‘yun, sabi po nung kasama niya. Meron po siyang dalang baril. Ang buong akala po namin, ‘yung vaccine, ‘yung pang-injection, ilalagay niya doon sa baril. So nagulat po kami nung nakita po namin ‘yung a*o na duguan na siya,” she added.

Sandy was shocked when she saw the doctor shooting the dogs. She pleaded for the doctor not to do it, but he just said people should've put the dogs on a leash.

In other barangays such as Malbog, some residents voluntarily allowed their dogs to be shot because they can no longer care for them.

Another witness, Jun, which is not his real name, told his story about his dogs being shot to death. He shared that his grandmother allowed the authorities to shoot his four dogs, but he, himself, was not informed about it.

“Pumunta na po ako ng tindahan then pagbalik ko po ng bahay dahil may pumutok na po sa tapat ng bahay namin, pagbalik ko po, patay na po ‘yung tatlo kong a*o,” he added.

According to him, he saw another man dumping the body of the dogs in front of the barangay hall.

“Pumunta po ulit siya sa barangay hall then binaril niya po ‘yung mga nagalaw na a*o kasi po akala po siguro niya buhay pa,” he said.

Barangay Malbog Chairman Restituto Pabalat said that dog owners failed to look after their pets which caused several incidents such as dogs being run over by motorcycles.

Meanwhile, Marinduque Provincial Police Officer in Charge Police Colonel William Santos VI said the incident is under investigation.

"We came to know it pa lang noong naglabasan 'yan sa Facebook, hindi 'yan nakipag coordinate kung sino man ang gumawa noon sa police station natin sa Buenavists," he said.

We've got two beautiful kittens up for adoption in the San Pedro, Laguna area. They're both less than a month old when they were found by their current foster.

Both Oscar and Salem are healthy kittens with good appetites. They are already eating cat food soaked in kitten milk. Although they're quite young, they're already looking for their purrever home as their foster cannot keep them for too long as they already have too many cats.

NO ADOPTION FEE will be required but we will screen potential adopters to ensure that we find the perfect match for the kittens.
