We would like to wish our COO Perwoll who turns 20 today a Happy Birthday! She famously rose to the top most position in the company through hard work, a lot of charm and some luck. She was rescued after a neighbor threw her and her sister Downy (RIP) into the garbage truck. She started as an outdoor rank and file cat, sleeping under the car and on sacks in the garden shed. Then slowly progressed to eating her meals indoors with the managerial staff OneEye, Ponkan, Jensen, Hera and MaiMai (may their souls rest in peace). After a few years and as the managerial staff retired one by one, Perwoll was promoted to fully indoor cat. She now presides over the whole second floor and the masters bedroom. As COO, she has relinquished the graveyard shift to the younger hires. However, she still regularly does her morning rounds of inspecting the closets. She also oversees the work of Reno and Kylie at the furniture and rug scratching department on the ground floor.

Good news! AKVH will be offering Endoscopic Procedures like Gastroscopy, Rhinoscopy, Bronchoscopy, BAL and Cystoscopy beginning February 2025. Dr. Ging Berdon has trained in Endoscopy and Laparoscopy with one of the top endoscopic surgeons in China, Dr. Zhimin He. In turn, Dr. Ging Berdon has also echoed what she has learned with the senior and junior doctors of AKVH. AKVH continues on its journey to provide world class veterinary care to Cebuano pets. Our biggest gratitude to Dr. Eli Reyes, Mr Jessie Naldo and the rest of the EVR Cebu crew for installing our new endoscopy tower.

S was an emergency case yesterday. His face and eyelids were all puffed up from a bad allergy to an unknown substance. But he is ok now and ready to go home!

Animal Kingdom Gorordo Avenue and Paseo Arcenas are CLOSED today, December 11 for the annual company Christmas Party. Regular operating hours resume on December 12/ Thursday.

Remember J? He was at AKVH for hip surgery last July for a right thigh bone that had popped out of its socket due to hip dysplacia. Last month, J was here again to have surgery on the left thigh bone which had also come out of its own socket. J still has a some rehab to go through on the way to strengthening his muscles and full recovery. But we are happy to have helped this giant dog and give him a more comfortable and better quality of life. Kudos to the surgical team of Dr. Shawn, Dr. Tiff, Vet Tech Riza and Circulating Nurse Dominic. 👍👍👍

This is N! He was a referral from another hospital. N’s right thigh bone popped out of its socket due to hip dysplasia. Major OUCH! The surgical team of Dr. Eli, Dr. Diego, Dr. Liland and Circulating Nurse Dominic were more than happy to fix that problem for N by performing the orthopedic surgical procedure: Femoral Head Ostectomy. Way to go J!!! J, an Alaskan Malamute, has Hip Dysplacia. Both left and right hips are affected. A couple of weeks ago, the left thigh bone completely popped out of its joint leaving J unable to walk. The fabulous AKVH surgical team of Dr. Tiffany, Dr. Shawn, Dr. Liola and Jerome performed a Femoral Head Ostectomy, an orthopedic surgical procedure to remove the head of the thigh bone. A couple of weeks later, J is walking by himself! J will need further surgery to correct the other hip joint but he still needs some therapy to get the left leg stronger before the right leg will be fixed 😊 J was a referral from Yandug Vet Clinic. We haven’t been so active on social media lately as it’s been super busy on the hospital side. However we would like to share with you the case of L who popped out her right thigh bone after an accident and was unable to walk. The wonderful surgical team of Dr. Eli, Dr. Shawn, Dr. Tiffany and Chris performed a Femoral Head Ostectomy to restore pain free, normal limb motion to L again. This is her in the video 3 days post op. Kudos to her furparents who immediately gave the go signal for the procedure.
