An antioxidant salad a day keeps the inflammation away! 🥗

Kale aids in the protection of cells from DNA damage and in inactivation of carcinogens. 🥬

Shiitake mushrooms contain a powerful anti-inflammatory compound called Lentinan which helps build immunity through boosting white blood cell production. 🍄

Salad in picture contains 300g of curly kale and 150g of Shiitake mushrooms.

👩🏽‍🍳 Prep:
1. Soak kale and mushrooms in a vegetable wash.
2. Rinse (really get into those crevices! Kale and mushrooms tend to get really soil-y😅) and strain.
3. Mix into a bowl and dice into smaller pieces or purée.
4. Pour into ice cube tray (if freezing) or keep in airtight jar (if refrigerating).

Stores in the fridge for 5 days and in the freezer for 2 weeks. 🧊

Serve a regular ice cube / tablespoon to your pet per day. 💚

“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” (Dr. Seuss)

The world first met the Lorax, spokes-creature of the trees in 1971. A year after, Donella Meadows’s Limits to Growth was released.

We are now in 2022, and majority of the largest advancements have been in favor of large corporations, their benefactors, and hyper-consumerism.

For decades, our planet and the brave among us have been warning humanity to dedicate more of our resources into creating systems that favor conservation and conscious + sustainable Earth ~ human interactions.

Like most important things, reaching ✨drawdown✨ (the point where atmospheric greenhouse gases are in decline) does not happen overnight.

But! Like most great things, it is possible when people work together.

Acts of educating and inspiring are at the heart of any big movement.

And when it comes to supporting causes, we need to regard those we’re helping as PARTNERS, not objects of our causes. 🤗

This is why I’m so excited to invite all you to ’s Wildlife Warriors Webinar!

I’ll be attending because in order for me to be the best partner I can be to the environment, I need to hear stories from the communities
and our rangers who closely interact with our Wildlife.

Our friends at , , and Agusan Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary will be there to chat with us, teach us, inspire us.

This is Chloe! She first met her mom when she was 1.5 months old, and at that time she was a very itchy pup.

Pet allergies happen when your pet’s immune system decides that a type of ingredient is attacking their body. The defense mechanism involves the immune system launching a counterattack identical to how it would respond to infectious agents.

Chloe did not go through an elimination diet and instead dove nose first into a CytoPoint injection and a commercial ⭐️hypoallergenic⭐️ diet, supplemented with fresh food such as chicken, chicken liver, chicken broth, kefir, carrots, squash, pechay, broccoli, string beans, malunggay, and oatmeal.

Hypoallergenic diet are misnomers because allergy treatment isn’t a one-size-fits-all situation. Different dogs will get triggered by different allergens (sadly and more often than not, proteins) but holistic vets suspect the foreign contaminants in our livestock to be the culprits behind these allergic responses. Most of the meat eaten in the world today are commercially raised with growth hormones, antibiotics, and in an environment exposed to chemical resides. So instead, we turn to novel / exotic proteins raised in stress-free and chemical-free environments, similar to the prey our pets’ ancestors and wild cousins eat.

She just turned a year old and got spayed last November. 3 months after spaying, she gained 5 pounds and has maintained their post-spay weight even though she and her mom live an active lifestyle that consists of daily walks.

Dogs tend to gain weight post-spay / neuter due to the loss and shift of of s*x hormones. These hormonal changes cause metabolic rates to slow down, which means their energy needs become lower. And when energy needs become lower, daily caloric intake needs to go down too.

💡Our approach:
We put Chloe on a month-long organic elimination diet with decreased caloric intake, in which she ONLY ate one type of novel protein was raised in an ethical family farm.

A month later, she has shown no signs of inflammation or itchiness and has also lost a pound. ♥️

Mindfully made in every way, here are some reasons .ph is true to their name. 💚

1. Created by a person who got depressed over her dermatitis. It’s important for people with voices like business owners to open up honest discourse on mental health.

2. They have a consistent sustainable packaging mission with:

🌏 Paper bag
🌏 Cardboard boxes
🌏 Honeycomb cushioning paper
🌏 Glass bottles

3. The owner also spreads awareness on plastic pollution and how the Philippines is one of the top plastic polluters in the world.

4. They partner with Lucban Academy for scholarship programs. Quezon Province is the home of some of their partner organic farmers.

Remember to support businesses with heart! When you support them, you support their partner communities.

🤔

🌸 Flaxseed (top) is a flowering plant cultivated as a food and fiber crop in more temperate regions of the world.

🥚 Eggshell (bottom) is a great source of calcium carbonate, but is only about 39% elemental calcium.

🔍Most homecooked diets suffer from deficiencies even when following BARF ratios.

⚖️ Flaxseed is a whole food that is vital in providing Alpha-linolenic Acid (needed for digestion, absorption, and energy).

⚖️ Eggshell is a whole food supplement that is an alternative to raw meaty bone, bone meal.

📝 However, eggshell is a good source of calcium for pets with kidney disease, in which their diets need to be reduced in phosphorus.

❗️Because it’s only 39% elemental calcium, it’s not ideal to use eggshell powder as your only calcium supplement over a long period of time, and especially not for puppies and kittens.

❓Why grind?
1️⃣ We grind these 2 whole foods because it helps increase digestibility and absorbability of nutrients when eaten.

2️⃣ Whole flaxseed while just pass through our pets’ digestive system, but when ground you really give all the good stuff a chance to be used by your furbaby.

3️⃣ Although less likely, this may happen when you give your dogs as well when giving large pieces of eggshell.

POV: it’s been 4 years since you started fresh feeding your pet and she’s the happiest and healthiest she’s ever been. 😎

📝 An important thing to note is that fresh feeding is NOT a one-destination-journey. I won’t life in saying it doesn’t get frustrating and time consuming because it does.

🚩 I spoke to a friend who pointed out that if a food is easy and fast to prepare, it’s a red flag because more often than not it’s junk.

🤗 But fresh feeding doesn’t have to be something that takes up all your time and effort, you do what’s best for you, your pet, and your schedule. If your timetable only allows you to give some broccoli on top kibble on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. And then some chicken breast on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Then on sundays, some dehydrated pork trachea... all this is still amazing! And your pet would’ve already eaten better than he/she did the week before.

💕A little fresh everyday goes a very long way!

28/01/2022

💡 this is a great point because kibble is legally bound and designed to be nutritionally balanced, which means it hits the nutritional needs of your pet.

🧐 The main problems I have with kibble are:
• lack of transparency
• lack of moisture

⏯ This video is about transparency first.

🤨 You’ll see the most kibble brands don’t really make an effort to show you the family farms they partner with to source their ingredients.

Nor do they show you what goes on in their facilities.

💼 When looking at a bag of kibble, you’ll see 2 ingredients:
• meat and bone meal
• animal fat

🥩 But my pet’s a carnivore, isn’t this good for them?

📝 What’s alarming is the VAGUENESS.

🧐 Most kibble are feed-grade. You’ll see that the regulations of feed-grade aren’t even half as many as the human grade ones, and ingredients used can be unsafe for human consumption.

This include 4️⃣D MEATS.
Which stands for:
• dead
• diseased
• dying
• down.

And 4D meats can include roadkill and euthanized animals.

👨‍⚕️Dr. Steve Brown has been a practicing vet for many years and started his fresh food business 18 years ago, with many customers living long and healthy lives.

👩‍💻 In this article, they talk about how 85% of billions of pounds of rendered animal parts are used as feed-grade ingredients.

😮Which is crazy to think about because these are also used in:
• explosives
• toothpaste
• paint
• cosmetics

💭 So it really makes you wonder, “what the heck is this stuff doing in my pet’s food?”

I created this meal a dog who suffers from 💢stress colitis💢.🤔 What is colitis?•col• (colon)•itis• (inflammation)So colit...
23/01/2022

I created this meal a dog who suffers from 💢stress colitis💢.

🤔 What is colitis?
•col• (colon)
•itis• (inflammation)

So colitis generally refers to the inflammation of the large intestine or colon. Colitis can be induced by mental and/or physical anxiety, which is where the “stress” part comes in.

The bowl:
🐑 lightly cooked lamb leg (all fat trimmed)
🌾 brown rice (the meal needs to be low fat, so rice comes in as the energy provider)
🐦 ostrich
🐮 beef heart
🐷 pork liver
🐮 beef pancreas
🥒 cucumber & broccoli mash
🥭 mango (multiple studies have suggested its benefits in reducing ulcerative colitis symptoms)

❗️This is NOT a balanced meal. This is one meal out of 2 that this dog takes in a day, with other supplements added in meal 2, and others throughout the week.

Stressors:
• fireworks
• boarding
• a new baby / pet
• fight with another dog
• intense exercise
• moving to a new home

Symptoms:
• straining to p**p
• more frequent p**ping
• increased urgency to p**p
• mucus in the stool
• tiny amounts of fresh (bright red) blood in the p**p
• soft or loose p**p (diarrhea)

🩺 Diagnosis:
If your pet is exhibiting any of these symptoms, check with your vet first! They’ll do a physical examination, review of history / recent events, as well as routine stool tests to rule out any parasites.

It’s fitting that broccoli looks like a tree because just like trees, broccoli has SO MUCH to offer!

🍊 Contains as much vitamin C as orange. Without vit C, collagen cannot be built. And without collagen, the structures of body tissue and bone are weakened. Vit C also helps heal wounds and helps remove potentially damaging oxidizing agents in bodies.

🩸Contains vitamin K, which contributes to proper blood clotting.

🧵 High in fiber, thus promoting digestive health

🍌 Contains potassium, which is a mineral and electrolyte needed for nerve & heart function

▶️ Watch the video to see how I generally prepare broccoli for my pets!

🥄 I put in serving sizes for pet parents who want to boost their kibble or PMR diets with these cute lil nutritional trees at the end!

Made this audio to inspire you guys to NOT BE SAD AND WALK YOUR DOGS INSTEAD!!!✨

Walks have been proven to significantly improve moods through the encouragement of steady breathing to your footsteps, meditating & manifesting as you take in the outdoors, and the overall fun you have when you do it with the ones you love. 🤗

So if you’re sure your whole household is covid negative and non-symptomatic,

1. Get that leash
2. Put on that mask
3. Bring p**p bags, doggy wipes, and alcohol (for human hands only!)
4. Don’t be sad.
5. Go walk your dog! 😋

11/01/2022

❗️If your pet is exhibiting signs of food allergies, check with your family vet and pet nutritionist whether they’re really food based. Sometimes your pet could just be deficient in certain nutrients, allergic to dust, or prone to yeast (a ye**ty beast, if you will).

🥘 This is a sample meal for the initial stages of an elimination diet.

💰 The most accessible novel protein is pork, so I normally suggest trying pork out in the 6-week reset period.

🐷 As you can see, the only protein used is pork. I generally followed proper ratios although it’s important to note that this meal is NOT balanced.

🥬 I did put in spinach though because I know for sure this pet has no allergies to spinach.

💊 I skipped out on supplements too since supplements may contain binders / emulsifiers that can be triggers.

💛 Elimination diets are imbalanced but shouldn’t ever be rushed. There’s no need to worry about the effects this imbalance causes because it’s only temporary, and you’re doing this for the long run.

✨ Remember when you understand your pet’s body better, you can nourish it better too.

11/01/2022

Could your pet be in need of the ✨elimination diet✨?

😩 Allergy symptoms are a headache to deal with because they’re so varied and so similar to symptoms of other medical conditions like:

🚩 yeast / Bacterial infections
🚩 parasites
🚩 nutritional deficiencies
🚩 environmental allergies

🩺 So how do we tell which is which? Consult a vet! Consult a nutritionist! Consult both! Never be satisfied with one person’s answer, and keep exploring (only from credible sources though please!)

👍🏽 Once you’ve ruled out everything and know for sure it’s allergies, then you can start!

28/12/2021

A list of reasons has become a family favorite. 💙

💚 Started by a pet mom, inspired by Khal Drogo (her Bichon Frise), whose skin spots weren’t going away even with antibiotics, natural remedies, and medicated shampoos.

🌱 She researched & consulted experts until she discovered neem which is a recurring ingredient in Fetch! products.

❓Neem is a natural insecticide / pesticide, and is great for skin and hair health.

🇵🇭 Fetch! empowers Filipinos. They partner with local farmers, giving them steady income.

🇵🇭 They have a Petpreneur program in which they encourage small businesses or pet parents to re-sell their products.

🍃 They take pride in using high quality natural products.

🤚🏽They’re transparent with their sourcing and manufacturing processes (they post pics and vids and everything)!

👃🏽 It smells great yet is mild, so it doesn’t trigger allergies or asthma.

📱 Keep watching this to find out more!

09/12/2021

Most food based allergies are immune overreactions to overexposure of a certain thing!

Rotation and variety not only keep things interesting for your pets (can you imagine having to eat the same thing over and over again? 🥱), but it mimics what their wild cousins do! And! It’s great for maintaining optimal health 🙂

I talk about organically raised livestock and some of the reasons I love it so much here too. I’ll list them down:

💚 You help support small local family farms who value ethical practices. What does this mean?
💚 They have meaningful relationships with their farmers and pay them well.
💚 The livestock is humanely raised so they get to run around in fields, breathe in fresh air, eat real food / grass, and aren’t injected with antibiotics or steroids.

When you support family farms like this, you empower them to move forward! They get to inspire more businesses to do the same too.

Remember that we are what we eat! So whatever our meat ate when it was alive, we eat too.

LASTLY! You’re a great pet parent for wanting to give fresh at all, so whether it’s organic or not - a little fresh always goes a long way ⭐️ don’t forget that!

These common indoor plants could kill your pet! ☠️

🐶🪴🌸🐱

Before gifting a pet parent with a plant or flower, you might wanna check out this list of toxic ones:

☠️ Pothos
☠️ Elephant Ear
☠️ Umbrella
☠️ Corn Plant
☠️ Dragon Tree
☠️ Hyacinth
☠️ Tulips

If you really want to give any of these as presents, make sure to remind the receiver to:

✅ For condo residents, keep these plants away / separate room from their pets.
✅ For garden owners, always supervise playtime.

🚩If you have pets and any of these plants at home and your pet is exhibiting these symptoms, take them to the nearest vet ASAP.

🤔 If you don’t pair turmeric with black pepper for yourself and your pets, you’re gonna wanna watch this!

📚 According Dana Angelo White, RD (founder of Dana White Nutrition in Connecticut), a study published in Planta Medica revealed that combining:

🖤 20 milligrams (mg) of piperine with
💛 2 grams (g) of curcumin

INCREASED the amount of curcumin that could be ABSORBED by the body by 2,000%! 😳

🖤 Piperine also increases the absorption of many nutrients, by preventing metabolizing enzymes (these break down the stuff we eat) from performing their function. (A review by Medicinal & Aromatic Plants, 2019).

27/10/2021

🌞 A traditional Indian recipe known for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-carcinogenic benefits.

🔅Curcumin, turmeric’s most active compound can suppress the molecules that cause inflammation. It can also neutralize free radicals because its chemical structure.

🐁 According to animal & cellular studies (mice), ,curcumin reduces the risk of forming cancerous metastases (spread of cancer cells).

🐭 These same studies suggest that the compound may also block the free radicals activity & stimulate the antioxidant activity.

🧪 In vitro, curcumin has antioxidant effects and promotes apoptosis (programmed cell death) in cancer cells.

⚖️ Start with these daily doses:
Cats: 1/8 tsp
Dogs: 1/4 tsp
Humans: 1/4 tsp 3x

⏰ Storage:
Airtight jar, fridge, 3 weeks
Ice mold, freezer, 3 months
