Ano at bakit mahalaga ang KAPON (SPAY/NEUTER)?

Ito yung pagtanggal ng reproductive organs ng mga pusa para hindi na sila makabuntis pa or mabuntis pa.

Ang main goal ng pagkapon ay para maiwasan yung sobrang pagdami ng populasyon ng mga pusa - may owner man o wala. Pag wala kasing tyaga sa pag-alaga, tinatapon nalang ng iba o pinapatay. Sino yung nagdurusa? Yung mga kuting at yung naulilang nanay nila.

Makakatulong din ito nang malaki sa mga rescue groups dahil maiiwasan yung mga abandoned kittens at mga stray cats na nagugutom, naaabuso o napapagtripan.

Nakakatulong din yung pagkapon sa pagbawas ng aggressiveness at pagiging teritoryal ng mga pusa. Mas nagiging relax at chill silang mga pusa, pati yung mga tao makakarelax na dahil hindi na mag-iingay yung pusa nila, hindi na rin maggspray ng ihi kung saan saang parte o gamit sa bahay.

Nakakatulong din itong umiwas sa mga sakit na reproduction-related tulad ng pyometra at iba't ibang uri ng kanser sa reproductive system ng mga pusa.

Bago ipakapon ang alaga, make sure din po na healthy po sila bago mag-undergo sa surgery procedure.

Consult niyo po trusted vet niyo sa price at scheduling.

Compare nyo po yung magagastos nyo sa pagkakapon dun sa pag-aalaga ng napakaraming kittens.

BOTTOMLINE: PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE.

Wag ng hintaying magkasakit o mamatay ang alaga bago malamang FIV+ or FeLV+ sila, bago sila makahawa sa ibang pusa, o bago ipabakuna against viral diseases. Wag ng hintaying makagat o makalmot ang alaga, o kayo ang makagat o makalmot mismo bago sila ipabakuna against rabies. Wag hintaying mabuntis o manganak yung alaga bago ipakapon lalo na kung walang tyaga o kakayahan sa pag-aalaga ng mga kuting. 🙂

• If possible keep pets inside with the windows closed, curtains drawn and sufficient food and water.

• Where possible, stay at home with pets and reward good animal behavior during the night by giving treats.

• If pets cannot come inside, double check yards are secure so they cannot escape.

• Exercise and feed pets before the fireworks start, as that will help settle them.

• Never leave a cat(or any animal) tethered during fireworks as they can panic and choke themselves.
