The sun is out and while we’re enjoying the summer weather, keep in mind that like humans, our pets can suffer from heat stroke too. Heat stroke can be deadly, it is important to learn the signs, take preventative measures, and know when to seek veterinary attention.

This condition occurs when the last part of the intestines, or the re**um, gets turned inside out and sticks out of the a**s. It appears as a red or pink tubularr structure sticking out of the area from which your pet pass their stool.

Re**al prolapse can occur at any age, but young dogs and cats are frequently affected. Prolapse usually happens after a pet has been straining to p**p due to intestinal worms, dehydration, constipation, diarrhea or has an intestinal blockage such as a tumor or has eaten an object that he is having trouble passing.

Treatment involves managing the cause of straining and replacing the prolapse that may need general anesthesia.

Canine Demodicosis

Bambi’s Glow-up!

Bambi was diagnosed with Demodectic Mange, an inflammatory parasitic disease of dogs (rarely cats) characterized by an increased number of mites (galis) in the hair follicles and on the epidermis. Bacterial infection is a common complication of this condition.

Demodectic mange most often occurs when a dog has an immature or weakened immune system (due to illness, malnutrition or certain medications) allowing the number of skin mites to increase rapidly.

Talk to your vet about your pets’ skin conditions!
