Kung nagsisimula pa tayo sa pag-aalaga ng ZamPen native chicken, mapapaisip po tayo kung anong klaseng patuka ang ibibigay natin sa kanila? Isa alang-alang din po natin ang sapat na dami at tiyak na klase ng patuka na ibibgay natin upang matugunan ang kanilang tamang paglaki. Ang pagbibigay ng dagdag na patuka galing sa mga halaman gaya ng azolla, madre de agua, kangkong, at iba pa ay isang pamamaraan upang makakatipid tayo sa pang araw-araw na gastusin sa ating manukan. 😉😊

ZamPen Native chicken hens usually lay their first egg at 22 weeks (5 1/2 mos.) of age. The Average Egg production of Hen per year is around 105 eggs with 84% Fertility and 78% hatchability. It is one of the highest egg producing native chicken in the Philippines next to Darag Native chicken of the Visayas.

ZamPen Native Chicken (ZNC) is a purified breed of Joloano chicken that is commonly raised in the ZAMBASULTA region. Its name is derived from its geographical origin which is the Zamboanga Peninsula region. It is bred and selected primarily for meat and secondarily for egg production that are raised under local environmental condition. ZNC roosters physical characteristics usually comes with red to black plumage color, red pea comb, long neck, large well-developed breast muscle and body size, while the hens comes with a black plumage color, medium-sized pea comb, orange iris, full breast, and large body size when sexually matured.
