A bitc🐕‍🦺h was brought to our Clinic, complaining of blood dropping. We tentatively diagnosed this as CTVT. And confirmed this by cytological examination.🦠🦠

🐾What is CTVT?

A canine transmissible venereal tumor (CTVT), also known as transmissible venereal sarcoma and Sticker's sarcoma, is a naturally occurring tumor of dogs that commonly occurs in dogs of both sexes. TVT is primarily spread by coitus, free-roaming, sexually intact mature dogs are at the greatest risk.

🐾Confirmatory Diagnosis of CTVT:

We diagnosed this as CTVT (Canine Transmissible Venereal Tumor) by cytologic examination. Cytologic features of CTVT are a monomorphic population of massive round cells with abundant vacuolar light basophilic cytoplasm and their nuclei are round with coarse to ropy chromatin with one or two prominent nucleoli gives us confirmation of CTVT.

🐾Treatment and recovery:

Thank God, She was timely brought to the clinic, where we've been seeing her on a weekly basis for chemotherapy. Results are very good and even her mood has been getting better with each passing week.

A cat 🐈🐱 was brought to us with the history of va**nal prolapse.
*Vaginal Prolapse*🚨
A mass protruding from the va**na of cat AKA Vaginal Hyperplasia. Most common causes are parturition, any foreign body, uterine infection, oversized fetus.
By using proper approach during surgical correction of the projecting mass, the mass was corrected to its original position.

⭕️A cow 🐄🐄 was presented with the history of anorexia, Cow was trying to defecate f***s but only mucus was secreted through re**um and abdominal pain.
➡️Upon re**al examination it was diagnosed with intussuception.
➡️Intussusception is defined as the inva**nation of portion of bowel into the lumen of adjacent segment of bowel. ➡️Intussuception is one of the causes of the intestinal obstruction.
➡️Intussuception in cattle may result from problems that alter the normal intestinal peristalsis and medications affecting the gastrointestinal motility.
➡️Overeating on lush pasture has been suggested as the another cause for abnormal motility and development of intussuception.
🔴Clinical Signs:🔴
♾Cow with intussuception exhibit mild to moderate abdominal pain, manifested by treading, stretching out, and kicking at the abdomen.
Animals are often anoretic, lethargic, reluctant to walk and recumbent.
▶️Fecal material contain mucus that is scanty or eventually may be absent all together.
Re**al and ultrasound example reveal a distended proximal small intestine and intussuception may be discerner in some instances.
🟢Treatment 🟢
It is surgically corrected by the end to end anastomosis.
⭕️Allahamdollilah Animal was totally Recovered After 6 days ❤️

🚨 👁 Opthalmic Surgery of large 🐄 🐄 animals has not developed and received the attention as much as small animals. But it is gaining importance progressively. ⭐️⭐️We at BURHAN VETERINARY CLINIC took any possible method for the health, maintenance and welfare of animal.

➡️➡️A case of cow 🐄🐄 injured was presented to the "Burhan Veterinary Clinic Gujrat". The eye 👁 of cow was injured brutally in a fight with the horn of the other animal. The only option left was to perform the enucleation. So, enucleation was performed by giving 💉💉retrobulbar anesthesia. ⭕️Surgery was performed successfully. MashaAllah now the Cow is doing well.

🚨🚨OVERVIEW 🚨🚨

➡️Prolapse, or eversion, of the uterus is most
commonly observed in large ruminants like 🐄 🐮,
buffaloes 🐃 🐃and sheep. It generally occurs during the 3rd stage of parturition or immediately after it in buffaloes, but in rare cases it may be seen 24 h to 48 h after parturition.
⭕️⭕️The inverted uterus is visible as a large mass protruding from the v***a and may
extend to the hock joint.
⭕️⭕️Exposed placentomes may be visible on the pr*****ed part and generally the fetal membrane might have partially separated from the caruncles. 🔴⚫️The incidence and symptoms have been extensively elaborated in cows.
🔲The etiology of uterine prolapse in buffalo is not clear; however,
forced extraction over relaxation of the pelvic
structure, hypocalcemia, flaccid uterus and hyperestrogenism are considered as predisposing factors.

➡️ A buffalo 🐃🐃with Retained Fetal Membrane (RFM) and Uterine prolapse was presented to the Burhan Veterinary Clinic Gujrat. Firstly the RFM was treated manually and then afterwards Uterine prolapse with cold water, course of antibiotics is done to combat the infection. Complete follow up to the case was given. 👉🏻NFECTIOUS CANINE HEPATITIS:

♦️Etiology and pathogenesis:
Infectious canine Hepatitis is Infection of liver in canine species caused by Canine mastadenovirus A, formerly called Canine adenovirus 1.
This is non zoonotic disease mostly observed in dogs but foxes, bear or wolves are also get effected.
♦️Transmission:
The virus is spread in the f***s, urine, blood, saliva, and nasal discharge of infected dogs. It is contracted through the mouth or nose, where it replicates in the tonsils.
Infectious site:
The virus then infects the liver and kidneys. The incubation period is 4 to 7 days.
♦️Clinical Findings:
▪️Fever 103F-106F
▪️Diarrhea with or may without blood
▪️Pain
▪️Voimting
▪️Enlargement of tonsils
▪️Hyperaemia of oral mucosa
▪️Odema on neck,head and trunk
▪️Apathy
▪️Thirst
▪️Conjuctitivitis
▪️Ocular nasal discharge
▪️Mortality rate 10-30%
♦️Diagnosis:
▪️ELISA
▪️serologic test
▪️PCR testing
▪️LFTs
♦️Confirmation:
Postmortem gross changes in the liver and gallbladder are more conclusive, and diagnosis is confirmed by virus isolation, immunofluorescence, characteristic intranuclear inclusion bodies in the liver or by PCR.
♦️Postmortem findings:
Enlargement of the liver, gallbladder seems edematous and thickned. On the lymph nodes, pancreatic tissues and gastric serosa hemorrhages like brush cam be observed.

Dogs with corneal clouding should be protected against bright light.

👉🏻🚨This cute little melano in dehydrated condition was presented to Burhan Veterinary Clinic with pale gums, vomiting and yellowish urine. Initially dog was treated upto mark. Upon revelation of blood report results and development of corneal opacity, we diagnosed the dog with Infectious Canine Hepatitis. But a week long effort has finally paid off and he' s back on track to himself again. Treatment was all done in boarding at Burhan Veterinary Clinic Gujrat. We are the only on in the town who are providing the boarding facility.

TRYPANOSOMIASIS 🪱🪱🐴 (SURRA):
A mare 🐎🐎🐎called up the doctor of burhan veterinary clinic. On taking the history, it comes out that mare is in the state of discomfort and off feed from one day. After taking temperature this is exposed that she has high fever of 105°F.
Observing all signs it's is comes out that there's hemorrhage on the 3rd eye lid which is the pathognomonic sign of the Trypanosomiasis. So we suspected that mare may be suffering from Trypanosomiasis. For confirmation we go for blood smear preparation🩸🩸🩸🩸. On the blood film mare was confirmed with positive Trypanosomiasis. ⭐️⭐️Trypanosomiasis is commonly known as Surra which mainly affects camels, horses and sometimes ruminants too.
👁👁After giving some medical care and treatment now the mare is recovered Alhumdullilah. INGLUVIOTOMY‼️
An alexandrine parakeet parrot 🦜🦜🦜arrived at the Burhan veterinary clinic having the history of parasitic (mites) 🦠🦠 attack. Mites cause the itching in the body organs of parrot which ultimately leads to the rupture of the crop flowing food out.
What the INGLUVIOTOMY is?
⭐️🔴Ingluviotomy is the surgery of the ingluvies(crop). Ingluvies( crop) is a thin walled expanded part of the alimentary canal in the avians that is used for the temporary storage of food.
After observing the Alexandrine parakeet closely and deeply, it's come to know that ingluviotomy must be performed.
📍📍Indications of ingluviotomy:
In avian , surgical ingluviotomy is performed because of the number of the indications:
° Due to the sharp object injuries
° Due to the crop burn in hand reared parrots
° crop rupture due to flying accident.
🌟🌟Here we performed ingluviotomy in the parrot under the general anesthesia.
After giving some treatment, now the parrot is recovered Alhumdullilah.

🐐🐐Udder edema is a periparturient disorder characterized by excessive accumulation of fluids in the intercellular tissue spaces of the mammary gland. The highly vascular nature of the bovine mammary gland makes the tissue more prone to developing localized edema. The etiology of udder edema is unclear and may be associated with reduced mammary blood flow and increased intravenous pressure.
🚨🚨🚨🚨
Udder edema appears in two forms: ➡️physiologic (acute) and ➡️chronic. ♦️Physiologic (acute) edema is usually not painful and occurs within two different clinical stages: at first, a gradual congestion appears under the skin, meanwhile the udder becomes turgid and fills out with colostrum. In the next stage, pitting edema develops symmetrically. Udder edema can become a chronic condition and persist throughout the lactation period.
🧿🧿Predisposing causes for udder edema or the increasing severity of the situation include genetic, prepartum concentrations of hormones in plasma such as some steroids, obesity, lack of exercise during the precalving period, excessive energy intake, excessive sodium or potassium intakes, increasing age at first calving, the gender of offspring (having a male calf), calving season (especially winter), increasing heifer height at parturition and higher milk yield. Also, oxidative stress of mammary tissue resulting in reactive oxygen metabolites production may play a role in the formation of udder edema.

Crop is a structure in avian for temporary storage of feed and moistens it.

💥💥It is absent in fowls, insects and waterfowl whereas pigeons have bilobed crop.
🚨🚨
Crop impaction, trauma and sometimes punctured due to hot feed. All these conditions lead to crop surgery.
🐤🐤An aseel c**k was presented to our clinic with punctured crop. So we decided to operate and which was Alhamdullillah very successful.
The bird had a history of punctured crop due to cat bite and it resulted in the drainage of feed . The only option was crop surgery. This surgery is a common practice as crop often gets ruptured .
Hence surgery was done and sutures were applied.
💥💥The bird is on its way to healthy recovery.

They get inside your cat’s ear canal, where they feed on the ear wax and skin debris. These mites can cause significant inflammation and swelling in the ear canal and are very itchy. Cats of all ages and breeds can be affected, with outdoor felines being the most susceptible to an ear mite infection.

Maggot infestation 🪱🪱 is a condition in which the fly maggots feed off and develop in the tissues of living organisms. 💀💀
🪱🪱Wound myiasis occurs as a result of egg 🥚 deposition on decaying flesh or pus-discharging wounds. If the maggots invade rather than staying on superficial layers of exposed tissue, subcutaneous nodules can result.

A female cat arrived at the clinic with the history giving birth to 3 kittens a day before 1 of which was dead.
🚨The cat was Off fed! And the body temp was 100F
Next day had a temp of 104F due to fluctuating temperature we decided to took her in our keen observation so we admitted her in our clinic for the first time in Gujrat.
We Suspected it to have a dead fetus inside! But
🚨X-ray cleared the vision by showing no abnormality in it.
🚨CBC was performed which showed thrombocytopenia and anemia. We suspected it to have blood parasitic infection and confirmed with smear examination!
Treated for blood protozoan infections, the cat showed respone to the treatment within 36hours and started eating!

"Neutering" is a routine operation performed in cats and Dogs as well that involves removal of their reproductive organs.. otherwise know in females as spaying and castration in males!

🔴Performing this surgery has multiple benefits concerning for a pet!

-Prevention from unwanted pregnancies
- Unwanted sexual behaviours at maturity like urinating to mark their territory

A 2 years old male bull dog cross arrived at our clinic with a history of excessive ticks on the body and self treatment of the owner with ivermectin injections.. the dog had recently developed anorexia and a decreased appetite along with pale and jaundiced gums and conjunctiva.. blood examination showed extreme anemia along with viral infection indicators..
We performed blood transfusions in the effected dog from our donor dog! This practice done one of the first times in gujrat proved to be a life saving turn in the life of this dog!!

liver function tests showed elevated liver enzymes showing a damage to the liver and hyperbilirubinemia indicating anemia resulting from hemolysis..
a blood smear was performed to check for blood parasites and it came positive ‼️

Suspected diagnosis was that a viral infection was present along with blood parasitic infection and the dog was treated accordingly
Within 72 hours the dog showed signs of improved apetite and now is fully recovered thanks to Almighty Allah!

Gangrenous tissue is the type of tissue that has undergone a reduction in the arterial blood supply and resulting in the death of those tissues. It may either be dry gangrene or wet gangrene depending upon the state if the tissue, infection and the tissue charachteristics.
The following was a case of wet gangrene presented at the clinic. A partial caudectomy was performed in order to remove the dead and infected part of the tail.
Antibiotic therapy was conducted after the surgery in order to minimize the progression of the infection..
first generation cephalosporins were used along with pain killer medications..
Alhumdulillah the dog recovered in a week after the surgery..

A flock of 110 hens was diagnosed with the ILT INFECTIOUS LARYNGOTRACHITIS(Avian Diphtheria)
On the basis of postmartum of a hen. ILT is a Respiratory tract infection caused by Herpes virus. Hens were showing symptoms like gasping and couphing. They were treated with a combination of antibiotics and multivitamins. After 3 day treatment, the situation is under control and hens are getting better. Alhamdulilah!

A rabbit was brought to our clinic with reddish scabby patches on skin (ears, nose and face). After microscopic examination of the skin scraps, the rabbit was diagnosed with Scabies.
Scabies is a skin infestation caused by a mite. Mites reproduce on the surface of your skin amd then burrow into it and lay eggs. Being contagious it can pass from one animal to the other easily. It was treated with ivermectin, permethrin and fiprolin spray.
Alhamdulilah rabbit is showing recovery and is still being treated.

Goats on a goat farm were diagnosed with the PPR .( Peste des petits ruminants (PPR), also known as‘goat plague’).
Goats were showing the symptoms like nasal discharge, pneumonia, diarrhea, stomatitis, pyrexia, anorexia, coughing.
They were treated with antibiotics, NSAIDs, bronchodilators, Somogel and supportive therapy.
Prognosis was good Alhamdulilah!
