AssalamuAlaiqum Bros💖Hope you all are doing good with the Grace of Almighty Allah kareem. Aameen

Trust you all must be taking necessary care of birds during MOLTING period, where shedding and regrowing feathers of bird is in process.

Molting is a natural process where birds replace worn or damaged feathers.

Adult birds shed their worn out feathers usually by the end of breeding season/summer and grow new, strong, warm feathers to see them through the winter.

Also young birds loose their first feathers and molt into their adult coats. Molting also helps to indicate a bird's age, s*x, and season of the year.

During Molting period some birds become less active, quiet, or stop laying eggs.

During the molting period, birds may be itchy or uncomfortable due to minor inflammation as new feathers grow in.

Birds may become more prone to health problems during these stressful times, as their immune systems are also under stress so necessary care is needed by hobbiers/fanciers.

Moults usually occur once to twice a year depending on the bird species.

The most common time for a molt is mid-summer, with often a second, smaller moult in early-mid winter.

Most normal molts take about 4 to 6 weeks to complete.

Below mention are some of the necessary extra care required for Birds during molting period:

1. Provide moisture by Spraying/sprinkling water to birds, this will help them to grow back healthy feather early. While spraying a small mix of Arqe ghulab, neem leaves, aloevera gel and Apple cider vinegar helps out as remedy for contagious skin infection and skin itching, etc.

2. Moisture is necessary for birds skin to save it become itchier.

3. During molting process avoid catching, petting and handling and give your bird some time.

4. Maintain the Right Room Temperature and specially fresh air crossing.

5. Feed your Bird the Right Food full of high-protein feed which will help bird molting with feather regrowth.

6. Relax the bird by keeping the molt bird separately from other birds and the cage should be not be much huge in size so the bird may be kept relax and should not require much effort to have feed and provide your bird proper and high protein diet full of vitamins, calcium and minerals.

Some times we face situations where parents start PLUCKING the chicks feather. The care required is to use Aloevera Paste on the effected area of chicks and the parents will stop plucking feather due to its bitter taste and its also good for skin and also the use of a calendumed cream has proven to be helpful in nourishing skin and bringing quality feathers growth back in a very short time.

Please try to provide proper calcium, vitamins and protein diet through seed mix and soft food to the birds to remove deficiency and specially provide Loosan, Methi, Neem and moringa one day each on weekly basis and ensure cuttle bone fish and provide green leafy vegetables in the cage and in boxes so the parents attention is diverted from Chicks to these items and they will start chewing and enjoying these items and will stop plucking feathers. Other than the routine seed mix also provide some Kaneri seed and Bhang seed as a topup to parents when they have chicks. These are very helpful for the growth of chicks.

السلام علیکم۔ آپ سب کو مولٹس کی مدت کے دوران پرندوں کی ضروری دیکھ بھال کرنی ہوگی، جہاں پرندوں کے پنکھوں کو بہانے اور دوبارہ اگانے کا عمل جاری ہے۔

مولٹس ایک قدرتی عمل ہے جہاں پرندے گھسے ہوئے یا خراب پنکھوں کی جگہ لے لیتے ہیں۔

بالغ پرندے اپنے خستہ حال پنکھوں کو عموماً افزائش کے موسم/موسم گرما کے اختتام پر جھاڑ دیتے ہیں اور موسم سرما میں انہیں دیکھنے کے لیے نئے، مضبوط، گرم پنکھ اگاتے ہیں۔

نیز نوجوان پرندے اپنے پہلے پنکھوں کو کھو دیتے ہیں اور اپنے بالغ کوٹ میں مل جاتے ہیں۔ مولٹس سے پرندے کی عمر، جنس اور سال کے موسم کی نشاندہی کرنے میں بھی مدد ملتی ہے۔

مولٹس کی مدت کے دوران کچھ پرندے کم متحرک، خاموش ہو جاتے ہیں یا انڈے دینا بند کر دیتے ہیں اور پرندے معمولی سوزش کی وجہ سے خارش یا بے چینی کا شکار ہو سکتے ہیں کیونکہ نئے پنکھوں میں اضافہ ہوتا ہے۔

پرندے ان دباؤ کے اوقات میں صحت کے مسائل کا زیادہ شکار ہو سکتے ہیں، کیونکہ ان کا مدافعتی نظام بھی دباؤ کا شکار ہوتا ہے اس لیے شوقین افراد کو ضروری دیکھ بھال کی ضرورت ہوتی ہے۔

پرندوں کی انواع کے لحاظ سے عام طور پر سال میں ایک سے دو بار مولٹس ہوتے ہیں۔

مولٹ کا سب سے عام وقت موسم گرما کے وسط میں ہوتا ہے، جس میں اکثر ایک سیکنڈ، سردیوں کے وسط میں چھوٹا موٹ ہوتا ہے۔

زیادہ تر عام مولٹس کو مکمل ہونے میں تقریباً 4 سے 6 ہفتے لگتے ہیں۔

مولٹس کی مدت کے دوران پرندوں کے لیے ضروری اضافی دیکھ بھال میں سے کچھ کا ذکر ذیل میں کیا گیا ہے:

1. پرندوں کو پانی کا چھڑکاؤ/چھڑکاؤ کرکے نمی فراہم کریں، اس سے انہیں صحت مند پنکھوں کو جلد اگانے میں مدد ملے گی۔ عرقے غلاب، نیم کے پتے، ایلوویرا جیل اور ایپل سائڈر سرکہ کا ایک چھوٹا سا مکس سپرے کرتے وقت جلد کے متعدی انفیکشن اور جلد کی خارش وغیرہ کے علاج میں مدد ملتی ہے۔

2. پرندوں کی جلد کو کھجلی سے بچانے کے لیے نمی ضروری ہے۔

3. مولٹس کے عمل کے دوران پکڑنے، پالنے اور سنبھالنے سے گریز کریں اور اپنے پرندے کو کچھ وقت دیں۔

4. کمرے کا صحیح درجہ حرارت برقرار رکھیں اور خاص طور پر تازہ ہوا سے گزرنا۔

5. اپنے پرندوں کو ہائی پروٹین فیڈ سے بھرا صحیح کھانا کھلائیں جو پرندوں کے پنکھوں کو دوبارہ اگانے کے ساتھ پگھلنے میں مدد کرے گا۔

6. پرندے کو دوسرے پرندوں سے الگ رکھ کر پرندے کو آرام دیں اور پنجرے کا سائز زیادہ بڑا نہیں ہونا چاہیے اس لیے پرندے کو آرام سے رکھا جا سکتا ہے اور اپنے پرندے کو مناسب اور زیادہ پروٹین والی خوراک فراہم کرنے کے لیے زیادہ محنت کی ضرورت نہیں ہونی چاہیے۔ وٹامنز، کیلشیم اور معدنیات سے بھرپور۔

بعض اوقات ہمیں ایسے حالات کا سامنا کرنا پڑتا ہے جہاں والدین چوزوں کے پروں کو چننا شروع کر دیتے ہیں۔ احتیاط ضروری ہے کہ ایلوویرا کا پیسٹ چوزوں کے متاثرہ حصے پر استعمال کریں اور والدین اس کے کڑوے ذائقے کی وجہ سے پنکھوں کو اکھاڑنا بند کر دیں گے اور یہ جلد کے لیے بھی اچھا ہے اور کیلنڈر والی calendumed کریم کا استعمال جلد کی پرورش میں بھی مددگار ثابت ہوا ہے۔ اور بہت کم وقت میں معیاری پنکھوں کی نشوونما کو واپس لانا۔

براہ کرم پرندوں کو بیجوں کے آمیزے اور نرم خوراک کے ذریعے مناسب کیلشیم، وٹامنز اور پروٹین والی خوراک فراہم کرنے کی کوشش کریں اور اس کی کمی کو دور کرنے کے لیے خصوصی طور پر لوسن، میتھی، نیم اور مورنگا ہفتہ وار ایک دن فراہم کریں اور کٹل بون کو یقینی بنائیں اور سبز پتوں والی سبزیاں فراہم کریں۔ پنجرے اور ڈبوں میں تاکہ والدین کی توجہ چوزوں سے ان چیزوں کی طرف مبذول ہو جائے اور وہ ان چیزوں کو چبا کر لطف اندوز ہونا شروع کر دیں گے اور پنکھوں کو توڑنا چھوڑ دیں گے۔ معمول کے بیجوں کے مکس کے علاوہ کچھ کنیری کے بیج اور بھنگ کے بیج والدین کو ٹاپ اپ کے طور پر فراہم کرتے ہیں جب ان کے بچے ہوتے ہیں۔ یہ چوزوں کی نشوونما کے لیے بہت مددگار ہیں۔

شوق سے لطف اندوز ہوتے رہیں اور پرندوں کی دیکھ بھال اور افزائش میں آپ کی تمام تر کامیابیوں کی خواہش۔ آمین
