There are lots of different types of treatments available to help treat and prevent fleas and ticks in cats. It’s best to get your cat’s flea and tick treatments from your veterinary clinic. Options include:
🐾Tablet
Good for cats that do not like spot-on treatments applied and those that will not tolerate wearing a collar. Can be hidden in treats or food for simple and straightforward administration. For some cats tablets are less stressful, disruptive and messy, with no residues left on the coat after administration. Flea and tick tablets available from your vets are designed especially for ease of administration to cats.
🐾Spot-on
Easy to dispense onto the skin on the back of the neck. Good for cats that do not take tablets or those who will not tolerate wearing a collar.
🐾Collar
Tolerated by cats if they are used to wearing a collar. Long-lasting and useful for cats that will not take tablets or allow spot-on administration. Should have a safety release feature (ask your vet).
Always use flea and tick treatments recommended by your vet.
🩺The only way you can prevent ticks and fleas living on your cat and in your home is with regular treatment. This doesn’t have to be stressful, disruptive or messy!
