This poor baby came to us with a mandibular symphysis fracture. It was in a lot of pain and discomfort and was given emergency medical intervention. Mandible was corrected by surgery. It has started eating and is doing alright now.
WHAT IS THE MANDIBLE?
The mandible is the bone of the lower jaw of the cat. It is split into the right and left mandible. The teeth on the lower jaw are all inserted into the mandible. The two sides of the lower jaw are joined at the front at the mandibular symphysis.
WHAT ARE THE SIGNS?
In general, the signs are: swelling in the area, a loss of symmetry of the lower jaw, and potentially the loss of teeth in the affected region. The lower jaw may also droop on the affected side. A mandibular fracture will also be painful.
TREATMENT OPTIONS.
Treatment of mandibular fractures depends on the fracture that has occurred and the location of the fracture in the mandible.
MANDIBULAR SYMPHYSIS FRACTURES
This is the most common type of mandibular fracture in cats. Fractures of the mandibular symphysis can be treated with the use of a cerclage wire which is placed around the two sides of the lower jaw to align the bones.
REASONS
One of the main reasons is catfights. Cats usually fight for their mates. This baby faced the same situation. In such scenarios, the cats are left with a lot of injuries and other series of complications. Some of them even die before reaching a hospital.
Such cases can be prevented by neutering and spaying them. Their aggression can be minimized by this step.
Being a part of society, these animals are our responsibility. If you have seen such cases and have strays in your area, you can bring them to us for spaying and neutering at discounted prices. This will be a great contribution to the welfare of these poor souls.

Feather picking—or feather plucking— is a self-destructive behavior that’s unique to birds. A bird that plucks its own feathers without intervention can cause physical harm, including infections from open sores. While some birds, including cockatiels, cockatoos, African Grey Parrots, macaws, and conures, seem more prone to feather picking than others, all birds are at risk of adopting this behavior.
A variety of factors can play a role, so awareness is the key to identifying them before they become problematic.
Underlying health reasons ____ A bird who’s not feeling well may begin plucking their feathers as a form of self-care or self-soothing or because they’re being irritated by an underlying condition. If you notice this behavior in your pet, visit your veterinarian to rule out things like infections (bacterial, viral, and parasitic), allergies (pollen, mold, and specific foods, for example), hypothyroidism, and anxiety.
Environmental factors ____ Heat, humidity, noise, and stress can cause feather plucking, as can too much or too little access to natural sunlight.
Lifestyle factors ____ Some birds turn to feather plucking because of lifestyle conditions like boredom, lack of exercise or activity, sexual frustration, isolation, or a lack of playtime with their pet parent.
Nutrition ______ Malnutrition can also lead to feather plucking.
Do bird’s feathers grow back?
In most cases, a bird who loses its feathers will get them back in about 12 months or during their next molt. They may not grow back, however, if the underlying skin structure becomes damaged.

Fungal infections occur when fungi present in the environment are inhaled by your cat or enter his system through a break in his skin. Fungi are found in the soil and environment, and in the f***s of infected animals. These infections can affect cats of any age or breed. There are certain types of fungi that can damage your cat’s skin and put his health at risk.
Fungal infection of the skin can cause a variety of symptoms, depending on the type of fungi present. Here are some symptoms are seen most often in cats:
Redness of skin
Scaly skin
Hair loss
Greasy skin
Skin lesions that can emit a foul odor
Thick skin
Patches
Nodules underneath the skin
Lesions inside the nose
Fever
Lack of energy

Draining masses on the head, chest, and limbs
Diagnosis:
Your veterinarian will need some information from you to diagnose your cat’s condition. After taking a medical history, your doctor will examine your cat thoroughly. He will observe his mannerisms, gait, and neurological function. Your cat’s heart rate, respiration, and temperature will also be taken and recorded.
Treatment:
"Treatment options may include keeping your cat hospitalized in order to reduce the risk of family members becoming infected if the fungus is transmittable to humans."
Your cat's infection may be treated with oral or topical antifungal medications. Fungal skin infections in cats can cause lesions that may be removed by your vet and/or treated with topical ointments, or medicated shampoos. When required, any secondary infections will also be treated with medications or IV fluids.
Recovery:
When treating fungal infections in cats it can take several weeks to see notable health improvements. To help your cat recover, be sure to attend all follow-up appointments so your pet’s recovery can be assessed. Your veterinarian will examine your cat for signs of relapse and make changes to the medication.

Velvet was brought to AL GHANI PETS CLINIC in an emergency. She was pregnant with three babies and was having difficulty giving birth. An emergency C-section revealed that the uterus had ruptured inside the abdomen. Unfortunately, the babies did not survive. By the grace of Allah Almighty, velvet is fine now. ▶ Cherry eye
As it is commonly referred to, is a pr*****ed gland of the nictitans. It occurs after a tear gland in a dog’s third eyelid becomes inflamed. While it is usually not extremely painful, sometimes a dog will rub at it as if it were itchy.
There are various surgical options available for repositioning the gland. Which procedure we choose depends primarily on the position of the gland, how long it has been pr*****ed and the shape of the dog’s face.
Surgically removing the gland is not recommended as it has an important role in maintaining the health of the surface of the eye.
▶ Entropion
Entropion is a condition in which the eyelid rolls inward, causing the eyelashes and surrounding hair to rub against the dog’s sensitive cornea. The upper and lower lids can be affected in one or both eyes. Entropion results in eye irritation, and if not remedied quickly, can lead to corneal ulceration. Entropion can be genetic or secondary to another issue.
Entropion is genetically common in short-nosed breeds (boxers, bulldogs, and pugs), Giant breeds (Saint Bernards, Great Danes, and Bullmastiffs), and sporting breeds (Golden retrievers, Irish setters, and Labrador retrievers).
Entropion can also be caused by eyelid scarring, nerve damage, infection, and excessive weight loss.

Milo is here for general check up. He participated in dog show held few days ago. Highly well-mannered and beautiful, also a high achiever in the dog show. After he came back, we ruled out that he was infested by ticks.
Ticks can be attached to your dog when he or she goes for a walk, hiking, or an outdoor activity with you. The best way to prevent ticks from attaching to your dog is to use regular tick control products. Your veterinarian can advise you on the best product for your dog and your situation. Your veterinarian is also aware of the diseases that are common in your area and can be a danger to your dog.
It is therefore important that you have your pet examined regularly, as prevention is better than cure.

This cat was suffering from Hypothermia. Hypothermia is caused by prolonged exposures to very cold temperatures. When exposed to cold temperatures, body begins to lose heat faster than it's produced. Lengthy exposures will eventually use up body's stored energy, which leads to lower body temperature, which can even lead to death.
