Second Chance Wildlife Committed to the rescue and care of injured, trafficked and poached wildlife in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Second Chance Wildlife (‘SCW’) was created in September 2023 by a group of individuals committed to the rescue and care of injured, trafficked and poached wild animals in the Islamabad Capital Territory of Pakistan. SCW intends to actively prevent illegal wildlife trade by conducting rescue operations in cooperation with IWMB; nursing rescued or injured wild animals back to health; resettling them in their forever homes; and educating the public on the crime’s economic and environmental impact.

Some of the animals we rescue cannot be returned to the wild after rehabilitation. For example, these "exotic" white peacocks are not suitable for release. In this case, we find them a suitable forever home where they can have a great life in a comfortable environment. In this case they have be relocated to the Isloo Fresh farm in the hills of Islamabad.

A remarkable story of resilience unfolded today as a tiger rescued from the clutches of the exotic pet trade safely completed a journey to a new life in South Africa. Baboo, a Bengal tiger cub, has been under the dedicated care of the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board - IWMB and Second Chance Wildlife (SCW) in since his rescue on 7 December 2022 when he was found at a local veterinarian's office in a dire state at the tender age of four months. The cub was suffering from severe malnourishment and over 10 bone fractures in his body. IWMB, in consultation with experts from The Aspinall Foundation in South Africa, seized control of the tiger and commenced with providing intensive medical treatment and rehabilitation. Today, Baboo, now 17 months old and weighing over 70kg’s, has safely completed his extensive journey to South Africa which included a road transfer to the Islamabad Airport, two International Flights and then a lengthy road transfer from Johannesburg Airport to Isindile Big Cat & Predator Sanctuary NPC. is one of the very few capitals in the world that includes a large National Park within its boundaries. This means that wildlife sometimes ventures into people's homes. It was the case of this gentle which we rescued and relocated into the Margala Hills after we checked him out for injuries and diseases. Don't hesitate to call our emergency line at 03365070707 if you encounter wildlife in distress in the city.

Four individuals have decided to do something about in . We became aware a few months back that wild animals rescued from abuse and trafficking were struggling to survive in the capital. There are rescued dancing , injured and birds of prey, endangered and even a that are in urgent need of healing and forever homes. We decided to swing into action and create Second Chance Wildlife to establish a proper Wildlife and Healing center in Islamabad. This is a short-term solution in partnership with the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) which allows them to focus on building a permanent solution.
We are now looking for help to fund the food, infrastructure, and staff to care for these animals while we pursue a program of awareness and education about wild animal trafficking and exploitation. Please consider donating to our fund so we can make concrete changes in the life of these animals. Our page can be found on https://gofund.me/b8351712 . Thank you in advance for your generosity, we will post regular updates on this channel.
