🚨 Puerto Nuevo Hoarding Case – Update 🚨
As promised, we returned to the Puerto Nuevo property to begin a full inventory of the dogs. With the help of 6 dedicated volunteers, we conducted intakes and began administering medical protocols. We were shocked to learn that the situation is even larger than originally reported — 41 dogs in total, not 34.
Today, we were able to rescue 11 more dogs, bringing 21 now safely under our care at Love4Satos HQ. As soon as we secure additional foster homes or boarding support, we will return to rescue the remaining dogs as well.
Medical care began immediately:
💉 32 dogs received their first DHPP vaccine
🪱 Dewormer administered
🦟 Heartworm & flea/tick preventatives given
✂️ Nails clipped (some with painful dew claws curled into the skin)
👁️ Cherry eye noted in a few dogs
🤰 One dog possibly pregnant
🔥 One dog currently in heat
🩺 All dogs are malnourished
As soon as they arrived at HQ, every dog received:
🛁 A warm bath, removing what appeared to be years of urine
🥣 Full meals and fresh water
💛 Gentle care and a safe place to rest
While shy, these dogs are quiet, gentle, and incredibly sweet. 💘
🚨 We urgently need help to finish this rescue.
So far, $1,800 has been raised toward our $7,800 goal — funds needed to rescue, medically care for, spay/neuter, and transport ALL 41 dogs to our Stateside partners for adoption.
🙏🏻 Please donate if you’re able and share this post. Every dollar helps us move closer to saving every single dogfrom this home.
