The mission of Love4Satos is to save Puerto Rican stray dogs, by rescuing, rehabilitating, and placing them in stable and suitable forever homes.

Love4Satos is a certified 501c3 and 1101.01. These certifications allow our donors to claim their donations to us into their Tax reports. One hundred percent of the donations we receive goes toward the care of the animals we rescue.

Yesterday broke our hearts 💔 but also reminded us why we do this work.
We get so many daily requests for help, and while we can’t save every single sato and gato, we try our best with the space and support we have. This week, we were called to a devastating hoarding case in Bayamón. Over 20 dogs were living in an elderly woman’s home, and tragically, some puppies had drowned in the pool.
When we arrived, we met three brave moms—Pandora, Pilar & Pisces—doing their best to keep their little ones alive. We couldn’t leave them behind. Yesterday we brought all 13—3 moms and 10 puppies—into our care. 🐾
They’ve already started preventive treatments, had nourishing food, and are finally sleeping in clean, safe spaces. Many are underweight and fragile, so the coming weeks will be about rebuilding their strength with extra calories, medical care, and lots of love.
We can’t do this without you. Every donation helps us give Pandora, Pilar, Pisces, and their babies the future they deserve. 💛

✨ Love4Satos: Week in Review ✨

So many big wins for our rescues this week! 🐾💛

✈️ 20 dogs + 4 cats transported to our amazing Stateside partners this past weekend
🤗 2 lucky pups were greeted by their adopters as soon as they landed in Virginia—at 7am!
🐶 Welcomed a brand-new litter of 8, our “Famous Explorers Litter” (photos coming soon!)
🌲 Got a heartwarming update on Pearl, a once very shy Sato—now thriving in California and loving her hikes!
🐱 Yessi’s kittens are getting busy!
🎯 Healing, socializing, spay/neuter & adoption—every week, every rescue.
🐕 And of course… Aldo remains the bestest very good boy. 🥇💙

Currently, we have 62 animals under our care as we continue working to give every sato and gato their chance at a happy life.

✨ Love4Satos: Week in Review ✨

What a week it’s been for our rescues! 🐾💛

📦 8 dogs and 8 cats transported to our Stateside partners—one step closer to their forever homes (including our longtime rescue, Asami the Chow Chow!)
✂️ 13 spay & neuter surgeries completed
🏡 2 sister puppies officially adopted by their foster dad
🐶 Welcomed new intakes, including Mama Angelica and her 9 pups

Right now, we have 81 rescues under our care and are already preparing 16 dogs + at least 3 kittens for transport this coming week.

None of this would be possible without our incredible community of partners, adopters, fosters, donors, and volunteers—thank you for helping us change lives every single day! 💕🐕🐈

Happy National Dog Day! 🐾

Today we celebrate all dogs—the beloved family pets, the ones we’ve rescued, and the countless still waiting for their chance. 🙏🏻

Thanks to our incredible community of donors, fosters, volunteers, adopters, and our dedicated Stateside partners, we’ve saved nearly 300 dogs this year. An amazing 96% of them (282!) have found new opportunities and forever homes off the island—lives they would never have known as strays in Puerto Rico. And right now, we’re caring for 64 sweet pups still waiting for their happily-ever-after. 🐶💕

Our mission never stops, and we couldn’t do it without you. Together, let’s keep giving hope, love, and second chances. 🫶🏻

Here’s to all the wonderful dogs—and the people who love them—today and every day. ❤️🐾

🚨 URGENT PLEA FOR HELP 🚨
We need your help to make a life-saving transport possible! 🙏

21 rescued dogs 🐶 and 10 rescued cats 🐱 from Puerto Rico are about to get their second chance at life. After overcoming unimaginable hardships (all were rescued in different circumstances from the streets of Puerto Rico), they are now ready to travel to loving shelter partners and foster homes across the Northeast.

Their journey begins with a flight from Puerto Rico to Miami ✈️. From there, a long van trip 🚐 will take them to their final destinations—safe places where they will find the love and care they deserve.
But this leg of the journey comes with many unseen expenses:
💰One last vet visit for EACH pet for a Health certificate (some routine tests have to be repeated too)
💰Kennels since many have broken due to a lot of use/or in the same transport when handling
💰Airfare from SJU-MIA�💰 Gasoline for the long drive�💰 Employee wages for the transport team�💰 Food and supplies for the animals en route�💰 Health/safety materials/disinfectant wipes and other supplies to keep them comfortable and secure
