These parasites invade a dog’s heart and lungs, slowly suffocating them from the inside. Without treatment, they will die. Saving them isn’t easy—or cheap. Devastating News: Sue Has Cancer💔 We took Sue for a second opinion, hoping to get answers about her front leg. Instead, we got the worst news—she has cancer. A lymph node in her hind leg tested positive, completely shocking us. Sue is young, full of life, and doesn’t look sick at all. She’s the opposite of what you’d expect from a dog who’s spent her entire life on the streets. Now, she needs our help. This Monday, she has an ultrasound to find out exactly where the cancer is. She’s still limping, and we don’t yet have a clear idea of what happened or how long recovery will take. Her puppies had a rough start. New Year, New Beginnings with Lorena 💕 On New Year's Eve, we welcomed our newest rescue, Lorena, who showed up determined to make it to safety—with a very big belly! We quickly brought her to the vet and started what we call our pregnancy protocol. Like many pregnant moms we rescue, Lorena was anemic, but we’re giving her all the care and love she needs. Yesterday, January 3rd, Lorena gave birth to 8 beautiful puppies—6 boys and 2 girls—all healthy, thanks to being under our care.
