🐴 Lagos Horse Riding isa friendly riding centre, children’s farm and equine rescue near Lagos, Portugal in the beautiful Algarve.

All profits from the farm enable them to care for rescued horses, donkeys and other animals and also to expand this vital work. 🐴

They offer equestrian activities, including pony rides, pony parties, treks, hacks through to multi-day holidays. Refreshments are available on-site and can be enjoyed on beautiful decking overlooking the animals. ☀️

We are looking for multiple people to join our team, on either a full or part time basis.

Candidates must be in the Lagos area or within commuting distance and hold Portuguese Citizenship/Residency and a Social Security Number.

The position will include the following:
• Escorting rides in the Algarve countryside. Rides will consist of riders of various abilities from beginner to more advanced.
• Caring for horses, donkeys, goats, dogs and other animals (including rescue animals).
• Handling young horses and ponies.
• Help marketing the farm and its activities.
• Assisting with children’s camps
• Assist with fund raising initiatives as needed.

Required Skills:
• Must be competent & confident rider.
• Great interpersonal skills with an outgoing personality.
• Must be a team player
• Be very organized & reliable.
• Good horse management knowledge.
• Must love working with children.
• Valid driving license in Portugal.
• Fluent English.

Summer camp at Daisy’s farm

Come and have fun..

We do pony rides, learning about the various animals, orienteering, arts & crafts and many more fun activities to enjoy.

Bouncy castle on the last day, a photoshoot with your favourite pony and pony games!

From ages 6-12 years old.

Camp 1: Monday 29th July to Thursday 1st August, 9am-2pm

Camp 2: Monday 26th August to Thursday 29th August, 9am-2pm

Lunch, snacks and drinks will all be provided.

The preparations for the opening of the kids farm are moving along. Our soft opening will be at the start of August and we can't wait to welcome you; more news to follow soon. In the meantime, we are excited to share our rebranding of the farm. We hope you love it as much as we do, in memory of our lovely Daisy the Calf.

With much sadness, we have to share the news that our beloved calf “Daisy” was this morning put to sleep. 😭. Everybody did everything they could for Daisy but the odds were stacked too highly against her from her original birth defects.

RIP little girl, you touched so many hearts! ❤️ 🌼

I want to thank the entire team for everything they did for Daisy. A huge shoutout to the wonderful Clare Jav Collins-Doyle who originally found Daisy while walking her dogs, who fund raised to support Daisy’s vet bills and other costs (and thank you to each and every donator 🙏 ) and then showed Daisy the love she deserved every day. Clare you will always be one of the family now!

A lasting tribute to Daisy will be announced soon.

Baby goats like to play with the pigs…the play is a bit one sided
