Sometimes time ‘stops’ because there’s a change in everyday life - affecting the family packđŸŸ 👣

This week my youngest (human) is sick with fever and we are home in the den healing🌟

Having 3 dogs of diff. ages can make me, as a dog owner, feel bad about them not getting enough exercise etc.

But knowing and understanding the nature of dogs, it is perfectly normal for them to follow the flow of the pack and spending time mostly in the house and garden us interacting with each other.

These are moments to actually observe how much most dogs enjoy to rest and be with the pack.

Did you know that a lot of the relationship & communication that creates a bond between you and your dog starts in your home?

In your home with less distractions, it’s easier for your dog to take in information.

E.g you want be able to bring your dog to cafe’s - start practicing at home so that your dog ‘recognizes’ the scene and what you expect of it.

Then, when you’re ’out there, your dog will trust you and be calmer because you already showed the dog ( with silent language).

It will help your dog settle quicker and more observe the man-made world instead of reacting🌟 đŸŸ

I feel the need to slow down, reflect and simplify. Christmas can mean different things to different people and Christmas time can provide a lot of light and healing energy.

We can sometimes get caught up in the stress of our own expectations and others.

That’s the beautiful balance of coming back to the now.

A constant practice and our dogs are experts at reminding us✹

Kids baking and puppy resting 🎄

I’m just observing. A lot of the puppy’s life is to observe and watch how the pack/family moves around in the house.

This is best done without us humans constantly talking, petting, entertaining the puppy (dog).

Yes, it can be challenging to just ‘be’ with your dog without engaging physically all the time but the long term relationship and bond you create with your dog is amazing.

My pup is sleeping next to me and I enjoy the moment - just as it is.

Later, I will do a recall and pet him also ~ best of two worlds ♡

Our newest pack member: DakotađŸ’«

He is a Rhodesian/Doberman etc. mix and you might know that my first dog was a Rhodesian Ridgeback so â˜șïžđŸ€Ž

He is 3 months old and already settling in the pack with the others.

As with all my dogs, there’s a story about how he came into my life and it’s such an exiting time for me to observe the pack behavior ~ my passion and share with youđŸŸ

Jag Àr sÄ tacksam att jag valde att gÄ kursen körkort i hundkommunikation. Den har givit mig sÄdan förstÄelse mellan mig och min hund.

Innan jag lyssnat pÄ dig sÄ trodde jag nÀstan alltid att de var min hund de var mest fel pÄ, men nu efterÄt och nÀr de gÄtt ett par mÄnader sÄ inser jag att de Àr jag som varit problemet och aldrig riktigt förstÄtt att han var rÀdd, stressad och vÀldigt vaktande.

Jag har lÀrt mig att vara mkt lugnare och nÀr min hund som fortfarande skÀller en hel del, fÄr utfall, skÀller pÄ tÄg mm sÄ tar jag allt med ett helt annat lugn, samt att jag Àr tyst, klappar och tittar inte.

Har fÄtt mera energi för jag har insett att de gÄr inte att fÄ kontakt med en hund som Àr superstressad. Innan kursen ryckte jag i kopplet, höjde rösten att han skulle sluta skÀlla, blev jÀtte irriterad samt arg för att varje promenad var rent ut sagt en plÄga!

SÄ tack för alla underbara rÄd och tips hur man kan förstÄ sin hund pÄ ett sÄ lugnt och fint sett men ocksÄ sÄ respektfullt.

SjĂ€lvklart behöver jag lyssna om och om igen sĂ„ att allt till slt kommer sitta i ryggraden, sĂ„ min resa med den tysta hundkommunikationen har bara börjat😁

Many dogs don’t know how to be still.

The dogs demand constant activation and the dog owner is doing everything they can to ‘make sure the dog is not bored’ - activating... toys, food, commands, training...

Working together is great, doing something together is great BUT when it becomes a demand that you have to do it to be a GREAT dog owner and help your stressed dog, it ends up creating stress reactions in the owners body.

The dog seems like it needs more and more and the owner is finding it difficult to keep up, leaving her/him with a feeling of not being good enough (as a dog owner).

This is the normal pattern i unfortunately see in dog/owner relationships.

First step to teach your dog to just ‘be’ in life is to recognize that you’re doing your best right now.

Accept whatever is happening.

Don’t compare yourself to other dog owners.

Find out what’s important to you in your dog life. What do you enjoy?

The dogs are a part of your life and you’re not living your dog’s life.

For your dog to be more still, and take life more in without demanding your attention, you need to take a step back.

Breathe.

There is a solution and the solution is you.

First. Always.

Your dog is dependent on you. Totally. Everyday.

Mojo always keeps me updated with dog communication as she has a lot of opinions about things in life.

When I brought her home as 11 month old, she was a mess.

I’m not kidding.

First I thought I should have listened to most people who adviced me not to rescue a Red Setter ( they are so stressed and run away and stray..).

Of course I didn’t listen and with my tools and understanding of dogs true nature from ,

I was in for a surprise.

When a dog walks into our lives, we are forever changed. The love of a dog, no matter what else is going on, is of the unconditional kind ♡.

Hence it makes sense to give back and listen to the dog’s language. This is a process of getting to know yourself also - trusting your own intuition and having clear personal boundaries in your life.

A dog will always change your life or at least how you perceive life. It’s up to you what kind of dog life you want to live - whether it’s a cozy life at home or serving others as a team working together.

It’s up to you to guide your dog in a human (sometimes confusing) world ♡.
