Our shelter initiative, "2ndchance shelter ," endeavors not only to provide these beloved cats with comfort and dignity but also to ensure that each moment is filled with the love and care they so rightly deserve. Palliative care for cats focuses on providing relief from the symptoms and stress of serious illness. The objective is not to cure but to offer comfort and a quality life as they approach their final days. Running a palliative care program in a shelter is resource-intensive. Rescuers, shelters and feeders are alway in debt due to irresponsible owners and breeders. Most of these rescued do not know how to fend for themselves even these feral unfriendly ones . Pls help us with their food, litter and treatments which is required . 🙏
😿😿🚨🚨We are still raising funds for a proper place for our rescued and seniors sick cats(in cages to monitor their condition and some r ferals). Our monthly food and litter expenses alone is around $2k for those healthy ones and those required special diets ($2670 including their monthly medication eg ckd and fiv supplements to suppress their condition 🍖🍖🍪🚑🚑). 😿😿Luna’s neuro condition is getting from bad to worst as you can see. Her head has been tilting to the far end at times. She refused to give up the fight despite 3 vets wanted to put her down when she was totally paralysed. I told her that she has to fight if she wants me to help her and indeed she did. 2nd chance shelter open the door to similar condition rescued since then but we have to stop and reject a lot of cases esp from owners who just wanted to give up their own pets for their own ‘excuses.’ Due to space and limited funds resources , we also stop taking in any more rescued. Every day is a struggle for us to provide them with a safe heaven and proper treatment and diet.
