Meet KitKat! ππΌπ»
He was found and rescued from the streets with no eyes and had infected wounds around his eye area. πΏThe VetMedic team assisted in debriding his wounds and stitching them back up. Additionally, dental extractions was also done while under GA to remove some of his bad teeth. During his stay in the clinic, the team meticulously and carefully cleaned, managed his wound, and closely monitored its healing.
KitKat was such a sweetheart during his stay here and had the whole team falling for his unique charms. π
One of our lucky nurses had the opportunity to adopt him and provide him with a fur-ever home!π₯³π€©
Despite not being able to see, KitKat is very loving, trusting and affectionate to everyone he meets. You can always catch him asking for face rubs, cuddles in your arms and purring away while making biscuits! π₯Ή πCurrently, KitKat is still settling down and adjusting to his new home while receiving lots of love and pampering. π» We are happy to say his wounds have healed nicely. π
KitKatβs been a purrfect addition to his new family and has made their family complete! π₯°πWe are confident that he will make many good memories with them. π«Άπ

ππ No time to paws, fur-parents! It's time to shed light on a life-threatening and time-sensitive condition that can turn your fluffy bestie's world upside down: Gastric Dilation Volvulus (GDV) β A.K.A "Bloat" or "Twisted Stomach." ππ
Media, a super lovable Labrador, was rushed in to VetMedic late one night with a bloated stomach, heavy panting and discomfort.
Our emergency on-call, after-hours team sprang to action on short notice, and urgent and quick veterinary treatment was administered to stabilise Media. Our team quickly and effectively performed gastric decompression and the necessary surgical intervention. ππͺ
We are happy to say that Media is recovering well and back to her happy and bright self. π₯°
ππͺοΈGDV is like a sneaky prankster, striking without warning. It occurs when the stomach fills with gas causing a βbloatβ. Sometimes, the βbloatβ progresses into a volvulus, in which the huge, gas-filled stomach twists on itself, causing a deadly blockage This wicked twist restricts blood flow, leading to systemic shock, tissue damage and potential organ failure. πͺπ
