Dear Friends of Nanook,
Good day and I hope all of you are doing well.
You might notice that Nanook has been absent from social media recently and here’s the reason; during our recent overseas trip, we left Nanook with a pet boarding hotel and she started sneezing violently with blood during her stay, and this continued even after we brought her home. We made a couple of visits to the vet which did not fully solve the problem and had to ultimately send her to the pet hospital for a CT scan and biopsy.
However, while waiting for the pathology report, Nanook suddenly refused to eat and could not move at all. We went back to the vet and was referred to the same pet hospital for immediate spinal surgery for slipped discs which was compressing her spinal cord. She’s recuperating now but she still cannot walk and we expect long rehabilitation and therapy sessions before she can again (fingers crossed too).
The obvious question is probably what happened that caused her ordeal in the first place, and sadly we are still investigating. As we were not in Singapore when it all started, we had to rely on facts from the people taking care of her but we’re unfortunately still waiting for responses which has not been forthcoming. Nonetheless, we’re thankful that Nanook is not in immediate danger and we’re hoping and praying for her speedy recovery.
