This year we are so excited to share the joyful news that our dear Asher has been adopted! Asher came to us many years ago and has always been the sweetest, with his calm, gentle nature and that face that forever looks like a puppy 😍.

However he developed cataracts as age took it's toll, which required the removal of one of his eyes.. But you know what they say? - scars make a man manlier 🌚

Seeing his age, one of our wonderful volunteers, Colin, decided to give Asher a forever home for his remaining years.

Now, with plenty of love, treats, and comfort, Asher is looking more youthful and playful every day! 😚And we’re so happy to see him regaining his playful side and wanted to share this beautiful news with all of you.

"Hello! My name is Cleo, and I am the proud mummy of my two beautiful daughters, Carrie and Chloe. We are also known as the iconic 3Cs at the shelter! 🐶

I can be a little nervous and aloof around humans in general but I'm still trying my best to get use to everything! The corner of the shelter is my safe spot and I would just stay realllyyyy still whenever the hoomans leash me. However, once I'm out for walks, I actually walk super well and absolutely enjoy the fresh air! Not to brag, but my walk is definitely one of the best I've seen among everyone else in the shelter!

I enjoy the company of other dogs and I'm able to get along well with everyone! 🥰 Although I'm a introvert, that does not stop the hoomans from loving me! My fur has gained their affection for it's soft SOFT texture. I'm proud to say my daughter Carrie got it from me 😎

Hey hey! My hoomans at the shelter call me Xiao Hei. I don’t quite understand Chinese, but the attention that comes with that phrase always makes my tail go crazy with excitement! 🐶

I absolutely love pats and attention (if you can’t tell already), except I'm abit sensitive around my hind area; that’s my no-no zone and I might nip if I'm uncomfortable. I love walks and I think I’m really good at them. I also love treats and my eyes will literally glue on to the treats-LOCK ON. 🚘 My dislikes? Hmm, sometimes, other male dogs, I swear something just isn’t right about some of them. Oh, rain and thunder, my number one fear!!! But that's how I earn the nickname of the weather forecaster- I can detect the rain coming from a mile away 😎.
I'll stay in my corner when that happens and its best if you just leave me alone when I'm like that.🫠

Hullooo! I am Hugo, and for me, everyday is a good hair day (I'm the perfect model for loreal and dove shampoo🌚 my lovely black fur needs some flaunting. 🔥 My master move is puppy eyes and I can proudly say no one was able to resist it yet 😎

Despite my handsome looks, I can be quite anxious (One can't be too perfect y'know!) and tend to stick to my pals, Leo and Pepper. I like walking with them but even then, walks can just be a chore and I would just lie flat on the ground to let my handlers know I've had enough. Having been tested in a home environment, I have a lil separation anxiety🫠 However, with time and proper conditioning (and treats), I'm sure I can overcome it!

Hold up, did someone say treats? 🦴 My charming smile always works when it comes to that! One thing I love to do is EAT and my favorite time of the day are meal times and TREATS. Henlo! My favourite people at the shelter call me Jordan. I hardly know what that means but I absolutely love it whenever I get lots of attention, treats and pats with it. 🥰

Despite my size (Not HDB-approved), I actually have a gentle and affectionate nature; just look at my adorable face! While I would absolutely love to be the only furbaby in the house, I guess I could make do with sharing your love. I’m also a good boy who tends to hold my p*e and poo until I go for my walks. 😌 This makes me think that I might be smart enough to be grass trained.

Walking on a leash is a breeze for me 🦮 but sometimes I may protest by biting on the leash when i’m feeling a bit lazy. If you’d like to sign up for a lifetime of goofy, expressive faces and endless wagging tail, please do reach out to my hoomans at the shelter to make me your forever partner in crime!

"Helloo! I'm Chloe and I can be a lil shy when meeting new people. But here's a little more about me! I have a small happy family consisting of my mummy Cleo and my sister Carrie. They are my favourite beings in the world and I always go on walks with them hehe.

The humans give me many nicknames like Chonk, Bus, chubs🙈. From the names you would know that I love LOVE food- the humans tell me I need to go on a diet :')
*Swipe till the end to see the skinny me 🙈. Every chubs has the highest potential to be beautiful and handsome 😎 I am one huehue.

But I've a confession… and that is, I’m quite scared of cars. 🚗 Please don’t judge me! It’s just that every time a car drives past, it makes me feel so scared. 😨 Butttt all it takes is a small pat or reassurance from someone and I’ll feel much better already! Other than being occasionally spooked, I walk very well on the leash and I can be your best buddy during walks 🥰.

"H…Hi, my name is Carrie, the black beauty of my mummy Cleo. Even though she always says she has no favourites, I’m pretty sure mummy likes me most! (Don’t tell Chloe! 🤫), the humans always tells me I'm the smartest looking one with my luscious black coat and my white collar and they just absolutely love how soft my coat is hehe. I know I could be a princess but I'm a ninja at heart, always snooping around and sniffing, so I am like a little body guard when I walk with my mummy Cleo and sister chloe ~

But honestly, I’m still getting used to many things even though we’ve been in shelter for a while. I always tend to stick close to my family especially when strangers come and visit; it's like we’re attached at the bum! (Unless you have food, no dog can ever say no to food!!! 🦴) Everything is just so scary! Especially the outside world. My heart always goes badum badum when we go for walks, so I might dart around and pull a little on the leash. Sometimes, the hoomans at the shelter scares me too, 🥲why are they so big and talk in weird languages???

Nonetheless, I think I can be quite sweet? 🥰 If you’re patient, understanding and willing to give me a chance (I'm HDB approved), I’m willing to give you one too! Just contact my hoomans at the shelter!

Woof! My name is Charcoal 🐾 First thing you need to know is that I'm a princess. My duties involve being your personal passenger, because well, I LOVE car rides!! 🚗 Looking out of the car to watch the scenery is just so so fascinating to me. And oh my, the air-con! Car rides are absolutely the best! (Apart from treats of course. 🤤)

I'd like to think I'm the smartest one in the shelter because no other dogs knows as much tricks as me?? Though something I am trying to get used to is showering. Honestly, I really don’t see the appeal of getting wet JUST to be dry again. And the water hose... Ugh! Another thing is leashing, but that's a whole other rant for next time.

Despite being apprehensive with strangers, I actually warm up easily to people in no time! Generally, I think I'm much more suitable in a home with experienced dog owners who doesn't have other dogs or young children! Behind these adorable faces lies a heart-wrenching tale of their journey after being displaced from their home. Meet Hugo (Black), Pepper (Grey), and their friend Leo (Brown). 🐶

Uprooted by the construction of the North-South Corridor, they were lost and unsure where to turn. 🐾 With their three puppies in tow, they squeezed through a hole in a fence into a nearby private apartment, hoping for a new home.

Sadly, their situation worsened. The management office received complaints about them and was instructed to address the ‘problem.’ Malicious individuals even placed rotten huat kueh in their feeding area. The puppies and Pepper were also chased around by a man with a stick, causing them deep trauma.

Fortunately, compassionate souls rescued them and brought the six dogs—Hugo, Pepper, their puppies, and Leo—to our shelter, Just For Paws!

Tragically, a medical exam revealed that the puppies had Parvovirus, a fatal disease for young dogs. Despite urgent care, two puppies passed away before they could fully live. 😞

Now, Pepper, Hugo, and Leo have been waiting for their forever home for years at our shelter, often overlooked due to their age. People frequently forget that no dog is ever too old to be loved.

This story of our beloved mongrels is far from unique. Every dog in our shelter—and any other animal shelter in Singapore—has a story of struggle and resilience. These dogs deserve the world for what they’ve endured. All they are asking for is your love and a place to call home. 🏠

As many of us celebrate Singapore's 59th birthday 🇸🇬 in the comfort of our homes, we hope you remember that many dogs in shelters are still waiting for theirs. For these loyal companions, a true home is just a distant dream. Some spend years waiting for a family, while others may never find one.

But you can make a difference! By fostering a shelter dog, you give them a chance at a better life, create space for more rescues, and help them become more adaptable and ready for their forever homes. Plus, fostering is a great way to see if adoption is right for you—imagine coming home to a wagging tail and endless joy! 🐶

Aarr! My name is Zita and I like to think of myself as a pirate because I have a very special smile – I only have one eye! 🏴‍☠️ I'm on a special hunt to find my forever home; the best treasure in the world! I’ve been on this journey for many years now, but I'm not losing hope; I still believe it’s somewhere out there.

Like all pirates, I'm adventurous. I love exploring the great outdoors. 🔱 I’m proud to say that I’m very good on a leash, so I’m the perfect companion to uncover uncharted territory with. I also love making friends with other doggos to expand my crew! I don’t need a big ship (I'm HDB approved) but because of my love for adventures; I can be quite an escapist. 🤭

Hello hello! I'm Luna, and I'd like to think I'm the most relaxed dog in this shelter (or perhaps ever 😉). You'll usually find me lounging near the entrance, while the hoomans bustle around with my shelter buddies. Sometimes I hear them politely saying, "Excuse me," but honestly, I was there first – just too comfy to budge! Maybe it's age catching up, or maybe it's just my nature, but I believe my laid-back demeanor adds to my charm, wouldn't you say? 🐾

Hey, I may seem like I am terribly inactive and unfit but I'm a natural on a leash, and the volunteers adore taking me for walks. I can just tell! 😆
