We also want to encourage people to support animal shelters in Singapore. These shelters care for abandoned or community cats and dogs. Without these organisations, many of these animals might be abused or even put to sleep. You can support the shelters by donating food and medicines. In Feb this year, we were told of a dog who needs to be rehomed that afternoon.
The GR Russell was left with this family for 2 years after his owner left Singapore.
We collected Russell and went to the vet. He was 18kg and the vet was worried about his condtion. The blood test indicated he was anemic.
We noticed he would eat fruits and vegetables in the compost bin and that made us suspect he was given left over human food.
We encouraged him to eat complete food and we discovered he likes fuji apples. So we made sure he eat fresh fuji apples.
Last month, he had a blood test doen to prepare him for a dental. He was 36kg and his blood test was normal.
If there was any regret, it was not lknowing about him and not adopting him earlier. But for now. we are so happy he is a very happy dog! and he has also become a model!

This is Ken Ken and Gold-D, both FIV+ cats we adopted.
Gold-D (r) began losing weight and the vet told us if this continues, they want to check for cancer. We tried to get him to eat and we realized many wet food has carrageenan.
It has no nutritional value and can increase cancer risk.
Most brands will not mention their gelling agent so we dont know the gelling agent. We later realized most brands uses it.
That was how our wet food came about. then we need a brand. We wanted Ken Ken but it was the brand of a snack so after discussing with Ken Ken we decided to call our brand Gold-D.
Ken Ken and Gold-D are the co founders!
And to this day, we make sure our products are carageenan free!

We adopted Oledia because we adopted Oliver and was told he has a sister whom he is very close to.
The inital proposal was for them to meet once in a while. We did not like the idea because we feel that if they are seperated and have their own lives, taking them to meet will create more mental stress.
But on the toher hand, we also feel its cruel to seperate 2 loving siblings. So in the end, we feel the best solution is to adopt oledia as well.

But we also make an effort to let oledia know that she is not adopted only because we adopted oliver. We are adopting her because we want to love her and to give her a home and to let her be with oliver.

When Oledia arrived, she would not leave oliver. She probably think its a paly date and she dont know when she will be seperated from him again. So we told her that this is not a play date. This is now her home and we are here to love her. she will always be with oliver and she can play wit him anything she likes.

She seems to understand because slowly goes to do her own thing. but always watch over oliver and look after him.

Also when she arrived, she was being careful. She would not allow us to touch her. She would get defensive and even bark at us. We decided not to stress her and let her settle down at her own pace.

Today, she has become a super affectionate dog. She is very intelligent and knows when her papa is near and she would get up and start wagging her tail.

If her body lanugage before was "Get lost, stay away"
Now is "papa u need to hug me first"

We feel the decision to adopt them together is the right decision. And we also believe this is now the happilest time of their lives.

No mpre being chased, no more being exposed to the elements and no more being beaten.

Now its hugs, kisses and lots of love. All the things every dog deserves!
