Our pets are members of our family, and, just like our human loved ones, they deserve our care and attention. This includes knowing what to do when they face medical emergencies. Ralph from Fido's Pawpose will join us later in the episode to share the basics of first aid for dogs, including essential tips on spotting the symptoms of heatstroke, how to carry out CPR, and so on!

Meet Ralph! He has bilateral hip dysplasia and his owners have decided to get him started on conditioning to help slow down the rate of degeneration of the condition.
He had a slight aversion and nervousness around the various equipment on his first session resulting from a prior experience elsewhere. Now on his second session, you could already see how much progress he has made through lots of positive associations, encouragement and low-stress handling - and most importantly, without any leash tugging or rough manhandling.
The calibrated instability of the equipment will help Ralph improve lateral balance, strengthen hind limbs, and his overall core strength. Keep it up!

We have seen a recent interest in a number of cavaletti work that owners are doing for their pets. So we decided to jump on the bandwagon and do something of our own.
In our exercise, we were focussing on form and not speed. The reason we kept the poles close to each other is to encourage weight bearing across limbs and to work on proper gait.
Sabre from @dagventures is a marvel at this and she is taking her time to focus and refrains from rushing through the course... we’re so proud of her 🥰

Happy Labor Day! It’s no rest for @dagventures as we are excited to showcase our latest episode of Fido’s Fitness, presented jointly with ZumVet.
We have over time received many queries especially on lower back muscle loss, and this will be a natural phenomena for most aging dogs. However, we can conservatively prevent degeneration if done right.
Correct form is important in this exercise; if in doubt, always consult a professional as this may exacerbate potential underlying conditions.
Have a go at this and show us what you did. Remember to go slow and progress only at your dog’s/cat’s pace.
