Uncle Rabbit is under palliative care.
He had a stroke in March and also found to have kidney issues.
His general health is also not optimistic. He had a check up this week and the vet felt a lump around his kidney. But he is not well enough to have a GA so options are limited.
Meanwhile, he is happy and eating well. So we continue to mediate him and to love him.

This is GG and Citerine.
Both are FIV+ and with stomatitis. After being rescued, their respective rescuers felt they are not safe to go back on the street. If the stomatitis flares up again, it may not be able to give them medical care.
We adopted them and they were shy and hiding. Now, they are more relaxed, and interestingly, GG and Citerine have become very close to each other.

This handsome, sweet boy is Shane.
He was FIV+ with kidney and liver issues and came to us for palliative care. We medicated him, and gave him lots of love. His condition stabilized for a while and he even gained some weight.
His siblings like him alot and would play with him, groom him, eat with him and nap with him. He was always cheerful and happy and we just hope this can continue for as long as possible.
Shane passed away this week. It saddens us but we are also happy that he had a very happy last chapter.
He is such an amazing brave and sweet little boy. Love you always and in loving memory.

This morning, Shane passed away.
He is FIV+ with kidney failure and 4 months ago, he came to us for palliative care. We subcut, medicate him, and shower him with lots of love. When we subcut him, Felix would come over to kiss and groom him.
Shane's condition stabilized, and he even gained weight. We were so happy for him. But as his condition deteriorated, he became weaker. Today, he closed his chapter as a cat.
His time with us was brief, but we are delighted to see how much he enjoyed himself in the last few months. He was affectionate, cheerful and was surprised to see many siblings who were very cute just like him. And they showered him with love and affection.
Shane is such a wonderful, sweet cat. Very loved and dearly missed.
In loving memory os Shane.

It is slightly over a month since GG arrived. He is more comfortable and settled down. It is very nice to see this sweet boy bloom.
He is eating well and we hope he will gain more weight.
GG is FIV+ and was rescued when he had stomatitis. His food is carrageenan-free to prevent inflammation and cancer. Here is he eating the Gold-D Hake.

The challenge with end stage FIV is the antibiotics window become shorter and shorter. He is eatign well and when we subcut him, his siblings always crowd around him. He always look very happen when that happens. We tell him that he means alot to everyone.

Citrine is the FIV+ girl whom we adopted. He was drooling and if she was release back to where she was, it might be impossible to give her care if she is unwell.
She is still shy and hiding away but its expected. We place food and warer near her favourite spot and also added a few cats houses so that she can move around, rest, play and still feel safe.

Shane went for his check-up and he helped to assure willow 🙂
This check-up was to determine if he might need dental care. Luckily, he does not need as his drooling was due to stomatitis.
Despite his condition, his appetite remains very good, and he is gaining weight.
The FIV and kidney condition cannot be "cured" but we can boost his immune system and subcut him, give him probiotics to maintain his kidneys.
We tell shane he is such a precious cat and how much his siblings love him! Everyone is cherring for him to gain more wieght!

Gold-D USA 11 ctns of food have arrived at Cozy Cats n Kittens Rescue in the US.
We rescue FIV and FeLV cats, and we understand the challenges faced. We also know how the lives of FIV and FeLV cats can be transformed when they have a home and are given lots of love and care. That is why we want to support fellow recuers who take the amazing and inspiring effort to care for FIV and FeLV cats.
This idea is made possible by many kind people who came forward to sponsor food for Cozy Cats n Kittens Rescue
Thank you very much!!!!
This is a regular program so please continue to support. Their wishlist is here: https://www.gold-d.club/USA-support-cozy.html

Gold-D FIV page

We are animal rescuers who have founded our pet products brand Gold-D. Over the year, we have adopted and rescued many FIV+ cats. In fact, our brand Gold-D is named after a FIV+ cat we adopted.

When owners or adoptors realize their cat is FIV+, there is often a big surprise and shock followed by a lot of questions on health, hygiene and safety issues.

While there is currently no cure for FIV, FIV cat’s needs are no different from other cats. They need a safe, clean and loving home with good food. FIV+ cats can also live with non-FIV cats as long as they do not fight.

We hope to share the stories of our FIV cats to share FIV knowledge. In doing so, we hope more people will be open to adopting FIV+ cats.
