This evening, precious little GG passed away.
GG was rescued from a construction site and had stomatitis.
Rescer was concerned that it may recur and it may not be possible to give him medical care. His chances of adoption is very low so we welcomed him!
When we took him for a check up, it was clear he was at the end stage of FIV.
He was hissing and wary, a hang over from his time on the street.
We had to make special arrangements when he had the eye infection.
But slowly, he decided we are ok and started to enjoy being hugged and pat on.
As he was shutting down, we told him to let go when he wants and not to worry about anything. We tell him we love him very much and he is a precious sweet little boy whom we love so mch.
His time with us was short but we are glad he expereinced the life of a home cat.
GG came in as a com cat but today he left as a precious child whom we love very much.

Please welcome Jasper.
He is a 6yo cat believed to be recently abandoned.
He has a microchip and rescuers have contaced the owner but its silence so far.
Jasper is FIV+ and suspected to have asthma.
It will be very dangerous for a cat like him to be on the street and struggling with asthma. We are hoping that being indoors, the trigger might not be present so he does not have to suffer an attack. Just like the case of Smokey.
He is a very handsome and confident cat. We hope he starts playing with his new siblings.

It is very nice to see GG making a full recover for his eye injury.
He is a very chatty cat and now starting to play with his siblings.
He also knows how to pose for the camera.

When a cat is FIV+, there is no way to know how things will turn out. In some cases, it does not bother the cats.
There is no value in trying to guess how things will turn out. Instead, we take all precautions. For food and treats, we make sure they are carrageenan-free.
Carageenan can increase a cat's cancer risk. FIV+ cats can have a higher cancer risk.
Since carageenan has no nutritional value and there are substitutes, we take the extra effort to ensure our food and treats are all carageenan-free.

In loving memory of Shane.
Shane came to us for palliative care.
He was FIV+ with kidney and liver failure. We were prepared for the possibility that he might go at any time.
However, he stabilized and even gained weight. But more importantly is how his new siblings pamper him. When we subcut him, Sapphaire and Felix is always by his side. Felix will give him a little kiss too. So Shane knew he was special and loved.
that was the magic that helped him stabilize and get a little better.
He finally closed is chapter as a cat but he left knowing how much he was loved. He was not just a cat, he was a precious little brother loved by so many.
In loving memory of Shane.

In memory of Uncle Rabbit.
Uncle Rabbit came to us as a cat who was almost put down for looking"sick" and "dying".
He was very aggressive but that was because he was so traumatized that he had to protect himself.
He allowed us to love him and slowly, he gained weight and got better. He became the little one's favourite uncle rabbit. The little ones dot dot, diamond, baby Gus, bean bean, tail tail all loved to crowed around their favourite uncle rabbit.
Time passed so fast. 6 years gone by and Ucnle Rabbit closed his chapter as a cat.
Uncle Rabbit has left but forever in our hearts.
Love him and miss him so much.
Rabbit's story tell us not to give up on FIV cats and no to conveneince euthenesia!

GG was very aggressive and after being bitten twice by him, it was clear he will not let us do the eye drop.
so we put him into a cage. The oral antibiotics is added into the food. The eye drop we put into a spray bottle and spray into his eyes. That infected eye still can see so we want to try to fight the infection.

GG's eye is getting better. It was not bloody anymore.
Being in the cage, we ensure he finishes up the antibiotics. However, the eye drop we can only spray instead of dropping it into his eyes. He still have vison in that eye. The vet did tell us that his eye may not fully recover but at least with the medication it will not get any worse.

Unfortunately, GG is still wary and would not allow us to touch or go near him. After the vet visit, hes become more wary.
Have been bitten twice by him and now hoping no fever.
Left with no choice, we have to put him in a cage. That will allow us to put the medication into the food. As for the eye drop it is not possible since we cannot touch him. So we have poured the eye drop into a spray bottle to spray onto his eyes.
Hope he understands that we want to help him get well.

Gold-D FIV page

We are animal rescuers who have founded our pet products brand Gold-D. Over the year, we have adopted and rescued many FIV+ cats. In fact, our brand Gold-D is named after a FIV+ cat we adopted.

When owners or adoptors realize their cat is FIV+, there is often a big surprise and shock followed by a lot of questions on health, hygiene and safety issues.

While there is currently no cure for FIV, FIV cat’s needs are no different from other cats. They need a safe, clean and loving home with good food. FIV+ cats can also live with non-FIV cats as long as they do not fight.

We hope to share the stories of our FIV cats to share FIV knowledge. In doing so, we hope more people will be open to adopting FIV+ cats.
