Last year, we adopted a dog Asher because he is unlikely to be adopted. Asher is senior dog with heart worm infection, joint issues and not human-friendly. It took us months to gain his trust. Recently, he is diagnosed with cancer and is on palliative care.
Hissy is very close to Asher and often spends time together. When we were changing Asher's wound dressing, Hissy came over to make sure Asher is ok.
Hissy herself went through 2 surgeries for her cancer and is now recovering. Her fur is growing back too. Very happy to see her so nice, so sweet and so caring towards Asher.

At 16yo, Grandpa Oldie is our oldest cat that we adopted last year.
He represents us to wish everyone a happy and successful new year.
Grandpa Oldie lived on the street all his life and while he had several feeders, he would hiss at them. So they left him the food and moved away. Last year, he had an eye infection and by the time he was trapped and sent to the vet, it was too late to save his eye.
Being a senior, FIV+ cat with one eye, the rescuers was worried about him going back to the street. To make things worse, his left eye also developed an ulcer.
We feel his chances of adoption is very low. Almost zeros so we offered to adopt him. He hissed at us and tried to attack. But slowly, he decided to take a risk and be loved. We were able to medicate and bond with him. His eye ulcer healed.
From a cat hissing at people, Grandpa Oldie has become a teddy bear who meow at us for a hug.
When things happen in life, don't give up. It may look bad but the solution might be just ahead. Dont give up. We hope his story inspires everyone. Grandpa Oldie wishes everyone a happy and successful year ahead. May all great things bloom for you.

This is Grandpa Oldie. It's about 2 months since he arrived. He is still settling down. But we have already seen a big change. He used to hiss at his feeders and us when he arrived. Now he meows at us for a head rub.
No cat wants to be aggressive and be on alert all day long. It is stressful, not to mention bad for health.
But if that happened, something bad must have happen and he becomes aggressive to protect himself. Our job now is to keep showering him with love.

Lots of love.
Hissy on the right has stage 2 cancer but luckily, it has not spread. Her rescuers quickly arranged for the surgery, She is also FIV+, so we adopted her to manage her health and to protect her from being exposed to chemicals that can increase cancer risk.
On the left is Joan. When rescued, she had a lump, so we quickly arranged for surgery. The biopsy indicated it as stage 1 cancer but not spread. Joan has a cleft palate and the previous surgeries were not successful. she is on tube feed and another surgery is scheduled for march. We hope it will be successful so that the tube feed can be removed.

Today, we screened "Saving Sawyer T. Rabbit" in Singapore.
It was a very good session. The Q&A session was very engaging and a lot of insightful sharing too.
And more importantly, the audience had a better understanding of FIV and we hope the documentary helps to raise visibility and promote love for FIV+ cats.
We hope to screen it in more places and the next screening will be with Gold-D USA

Oldie's rescuer told us they never hear him meow.
He would hiss at the feeders and they left him his food and moved away.
Oldie must have had very bad experience and had to behave aggressively to protect himself.
Now he has a home and his behavior has started to change. He will meow his papa to give him a head rub and he will pur while he enjoys his massage.

We are very happy to observe Oldie is moving around and exploring his new home. We credit our cats, who have been extremely welcoming towards him.
Oldie is a senior cat who has spent most of his life alone, and he can get aggressive to protect himself. So we expect him to take a longer time to settle down. We give him all the time and space he needs. But everything has been going very well. Very proud of Oldie.

Today Hissy went for her surgery.
When she was rescued, she had stage 2 mammary cancer but it had not spread. The rescuers quickly arrange for surgery.
Being FIV+ and with stage 2 cancer, she has a high risk of the cancer recurring. So she need another surgery to remove the remaining mammary glands.
Over the last 2 months with us, she has gained weight and settled down happily. So it is easier to do her post surgery care. After her surgery, she was active and alert. Did not look tired at all!
We are very happy to see that and we hope her recovery will be smooth.
Our policy is caragreenan free food and pet safe homecare. That will reduce the chances of any cancer coming back!

Gold-D FIV page

We are animal rescuers who have founded our pet products brand Gold-D. Over the year, we have adopted and rescued many FIV+ cats. In fact, our brand Gold-D is named after a FIV+ cat we adopted.

When owners or adoptors realize their cat is FIV+, there is often a big surprise and shock followed by a lot of questions on health, hygiene and safety issues.

While there is currently no cure for FIV, FIV cat’s needs are no different from other cats. They need a safe, clean and loving home with good food. FIV+ cats can also live with non-FIV cats as long as they do not fight.

We hope to share the stories of our FIV cats to share FIV knowledge. In doing so, we hope more people will be open to adopting FIV+ cats.
